Chapter Two
I stepped forward from the shadows, a cat like hiss escaping my throat. The leach whipped around snarling, blood covering its face, the tips of its crimson covered fangs just showing. Hatred of this foul creature shot through me as I took a step closer.
The leach matched my step and also stepped forward, stepped forward to be bathed in moonlight, our eyes locked and I froze, so did the leach. I struggled to breathe as I looked into those eyes, golden eyes, tinted with crimson red. I couldn't look away, as for the reason why? I couldn't tell you for the life of me.
Forcing my gaze away I looked down at the dirty concrete beneath my feet. Anything was better than looking into that leaches eyes, that filthy murderess vampires eyes. Even if they heighted the beating of my heart, and caused my cheeks to blush bright red as if my whole body was on fire.
I glanced back up at the leach to see him running his arm over his blood covered face, and removing the bright crimson liquid. He looked up at me again but luckily this time I did not freeze over, though my heart rate still picked up, a lot. A deep frown was forming between his brows as he watched me, his eyes slightly narrowed.
Mentally shaking my head, I remembered that this was a bloodthirsty killer whose life I must bring to an end. I made my way closer to him, low in a crouch as if he was prey I was hunting. Times like these are when I let the more animal side of me take over, the tiger side of me.
Then I leaped, slamming him into the brick wall that stood behind him and an ear splintering crunch rung in my ears as bones snapped, and brick was broken away. He was taller than me, by far so instead of holding him against the wall by the shoulders, my hands were placed on his chest and I could feel his heart hammering under his rib cage. Wait vampires don’t have heart's do they? Ah whatever, wasn't going to stop me.
Fear flashed through his eyes then they went calm, almost like I'd already killed him, the only thing giving away his fear was his fast beating heart. "Hurry and kill me already angel, you wouldn't want my blood on your hands now would you". His voice was low and husky, perfect for a singer, and it sent shivers down my spine and I wanted to hear more.
Why? I have no idea, but I did, so instead of killing him straight away like planned I drew it out. "Why should I. For one I enjoy spilling the blood of creatures as worthless as you.”
That frown formed between his dark browns, almost as dark and the messy black hair that adored his head, once again. "Doesn’t that make you just as bad, I thought your kind cared for all, and you know the whole world peace thing?"
My jaw clenched as he spoke and I shoved his back even harder into the brick wall. "No you see because killing you will save many lives from a painful and long death, killing innocent young lady's will not, so therefore you are the filth that we kill."
I watched as his eyes cloud over and his gaze landed on the girls limp form. "I don't normally kill people, only when my throat really burns, or when I’m mad, really mad at someone." He mumbled and I only just caught what he said.
"So what you think it's ok that you only kill sometimes." I know what you’re thinking just hurry and kill him, but I just couldn't bring myself to end his worthless life, sounds funny huh, but I couldn't help it.
