Chapter Twelve

~Dante~

It took me ages to get to sleep, all I could think of was Jessie standing there in that towel outside my room and those thoughts led to other thoughts of her being inside the room, then with the towel off and her in my bed.  It left me quite sexual frustrated, which can be proven by the fact that I woke up wet after a night full of sexual dreams featuring Jessie. I hadn’t had a wet dream since I was fifteen; this whole thing was defiantly getting out of hand. I mean I was still getting my mind around the fact that she had willing come up to me and given me a hug. I was so shocked at first that I didn’t react, but once my arms were around her I didn’t want to let go.

I had no idea what I was going to do about this sexual attraction I had with Jessie, I mean I couldn’t bloody well act on it, she’s an angel and I’m a vampire. I had to do something though because I can’t get her out of my head, and my bodies yeaning to be near her, to touch her. Sighing, I laid there in my bed, not having the mental energy to get out of bed. I let my mind wonder back to the morning before and how Jessie’s gaze had slowly taken in my almost naked body and it made me shiver just thinking about it. When she realized what she was doing she went so red in the face, I have to imagine what she would have done if Mish hadn’t have come along.

My gaze shot to my bedroom door just before it opened to reveal Silver with a wide grin on his face. “Hi there Dante, no time for sleeping in,” He paused for a second before taking in the room then frowned, “Why does it smell like sex in here?”

It was my turn to go red in the face, and not enjoying the embracement, I threw one of my pillows at Silvers head with force. He fell back a step but otherwise was unharmed, which annoyed me all the more. “Get up, Luke and the council members have called a meeting and they want you there.”

I frowned, Luke never wants me at council meetings; the council elders get annoyed at my good humour. I wasn’t going to argue with him though so I got up and headed for my shower to quickly rinse off. I then came out and got dressed, really not caring that Silver was seeing me naked. He has known me almost as long as Luke, he was kind of like an older brother to me, who never aged. Once dressed I followed Silver out the door but stopped outside the spare room. I held my hand up at Silver, telling him to wait then opened the door and slipped in. Jessie was lying curled up on the bed, the blanket only covering her mid-section and wrapped around her multiple times.

She looked so innocent and breakable in sleep, but I knew that wasn’t true, and what I was about to do was risky stuff. I moved closer to the bed, until I was standing over the girl who had occupied my dreams all night. I reached my hand out and shook her gently, “Hey Jessie, wake up.”

I expected her to leap up or maybe hit me, but instead she just mumbled at me and kept on sleeping. I knelt down beside the bed and shook her a little harder, which seemed to work since her eyes fluttered open. I smiled at her, still not sure if she was going to kill me or not and said, “Hey can you get up now? I have to go to a council meeting and I don’t want to have to leave Mish here by herself so I need to know if you’re okay to stay here with her?”

She yawned and sat up in bed with her legs tucked underneath her and replied to me with a smile, “Yeah, I can do that. It’s not like I had any plans anyway.”

I was still a little surprised she was being so cool with the whole waking her up thing; I had pegged her for a bad morning person. Instead though she yawned again and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. Her hair was messy and she was sitting in bed in tiny pink shorts and a white singlet, it kind of made me want to crawl on top of her, okay maybe not kind of, maybe more like a lot. She began chewing on her lower lip, and it really didn’t help with my whole self-control thing so before I could do anything stupid, or that would get me killed I stood up and made a break for the door. “Okay thanks, I should be back sometime around midnight.”
