Chapter 2: "he's got the full package"

Alarm rings***
"Urghhh" I groan as the alarm rings signalizing it 7:30am which means I have to stand up and get ready for work. I hesitantly stand up from the bed and turn off the alarm.

After graduating from highschool I chose to have a year break before going to college.

I decided to make use of this year productively by taking up a job as a waitress at the restaurant named 'Brown restaurant'.

I've been working there for the past 1 month now. It's a fancy restaurant and they actually pay well.

After turning of the alarm I do my morning stretch and go to the bathroom to take my bath and brush my teeth. When I finish, I come out of the bathroom.

I clean my body and go to my closet. I pick a white T-shirt with a random black jeans, then I put them on.

When I finish I apply body lotion to my skin, I know I'm actually meant to apply body lotion before putting on my clothes but I prefer applying body lotion after dressing, its become a part of me already.

I pick my hair brush and brush my hair, then packed it in a messy bun way.

All set for work.

I look at myself in the mirror, I look so weary. I'm not putting on earring nor makeup.

I've always looked like this ever since Brian left me. I don't feel the need to look good since the one I want to look good for isn't here.
I pick up my hand bag and head downstairs for breakfast.

When I get downstairs I see my mum mopping the floor "Good morning honey" she says when she raises her head up and notice i'm in the living room.

My mum actually looks younger than she is, she looks in her early 30's when she is actually in her late 40's.

Ever since my dad died she has always been a single parent.

My dad died when I was nine years old, ever since then she took up the responsibility of my dad and mum. She raised me alone.

"Good morning mum" I respond blankly and walk towards the kitchen for breakfast.

I know my mum would have prepared me breakfast, she always does that. When I get to the kitchen I spot covered plate on the kitchen counter.

I guess that's my food.

When I open the plate, I see pancakes(my favorite). My mum knows pancake is my favorite so most times she prepares pancakes.

I grab a fork and pull out a stool from the kitchen counter and start stuffing some pancakes in my mouth. After I finish I drink water and go back to the living room.
By the time I get to the living room my mum is done mopping and now watching a movie.

My mum is on 2 months leave from work and she's quite enjoying her leave.

"Mum I'm leaving already" I inform, she get up from the couch and walks towards me "okay darlin, take care of yourself" She says and gives me a small peck on my cheek.
"Bye mum" I say as I exit the house. "Kendall?" My mum calls me making me stop my pace
"yes mum" I answer, looking at back.
"I love you" She coos.

I know why she said to that me, she trying to make feel better "same here" I say blankly and I exit the house.

The morning breeze is so overwhelming. I close my eyes and take in a deep breathe.
Each time I close my eyes I see Brian's face, I haven't gotten over Brian.
I think of him every time. He is my reason for living. I await his return and I hope he comes back soon.

I break out of my trance and open my eyes. I search my bag for my phone to know what the time says.
When I find my phone, I turn it on and see that it's 8:30 already "oh no I'm gonna be late for work" I mutter to myself.

I walk to the bus stop as fast as I can because I hate being late to work.
Immediately I get to the bus stop I take a taxi to Brown restaurant.

Brown resturant is a very big and famous resturant in Crowville, its actually one of the biggest resturant in Crowville town.
It is owned by a Multimillionaire named Zack Brown. I'm so lucky I got a job there.

In about 25 mins i get to the resturant.
I get down from the taxi and pay the taxi driver.

I check my phone and It's promptly my resuming time- 9:00am "just in time" I mutter to myself and I enter the restaurant.
The resturant is pretty busy even if its just 9am, customers are around already.
I head towards the restaurant's locker room to pick my apron and drop my bag.

"Kendall! You're around" a red headed girl named Alex holla immediately I enter the locker room. "Yeah, good morning" I respond.

Alex is my very good friend, she's the only one I talk to at the resturant. When I first got the job at the resturant and was finding the job tough, she was the one who helped me and encouraged me not quit the job.

Alex is also a waitress in this resturant.

I pick my apron from my locker and drop my hand bag.

"Guess what Kendall?" She ask, smiling like she's excited about something. "You have a date with one of the hot customers?" I question in bored tone.

Alex is always having a date with one of the 'hot' male customers and at the end she ends up getting dumped after date.
"No silly, There is a new managing director of the restaurant and he his fucking 'hot'" Alex says putting emphasis on word 'hot'.
"oh cool" I reply blankly.

"Aren't you happy about it?" She questions with her eyebrows scrunch together. "Not really, I really don't care" I respond truthfully.

I really don't care if there is a new MD or not, it changes nothing though.

"But Kendall, he's Mr Brown's son. He's got the full package. He's tall, handsome as hell, fucking rich, he's got ebony black hair, ocean blue eyes and he's personality-superb. He literally impeccable.You know he's every girls dream guy" Alex chatters in a dreamy tone.

"I guess that's a good thing for you, maybe he's the guy you've been searching for" I say indifferently.

"Maybe....but i have this feeling you might fall for him" She says, nudging my shoulder with hers.

I send a death glare at her for what she said.
"Alex, that will never happen" I say. She shrugs it off and I exit the locker room to start taking orders.

I know the beginning of this chapter was kinda boring, I'm sorry about that. This chapter is mainly to introduce Kendall's personality.
Don't worry Kyle will be showing up in the next chapter.
