"Mommy!" Payton, my little girl said, waking me up out of bed.

"Yes, baby girl?" I said.

"Daddy is making pancakes," She squeaked.

I smiled and told her that I would be down in a minute, she ran off to the kitchen and I went to my closet, pulling out a t-shirt and a pair of tight black jeans. I got dressed and I started to think about how two years have passed by quickly, we still have not found Abigail or Zoey, but Demetrius and I are married and we have a beautiful girl. Her name is Payton Emily Chander. Her middle name was in honor of Emily, my best friend who died for me by Zoey’s demonic hands. I walked down the stairs of our little house that is fifty miles away from the Elders castle in the quiet forest. I went into the kitchen and saw Payton on a wobbly stool trying to get to the bottle of crumbled up cookies for her pancakes. When she was about to fall I ran to her and caught her.

"Thank you mommy. Daddy?" She asked sweetly as she ran up to him and tugged on his shirt.

"Yes, darling," he said lifting her up and putting her on his hip as he flipped the last pancake.

"Can we eat in the living room and watch Frozen," She asked innocently.

"I don’t know you have to ask mommy," He said and she slid off his hip and ran to me.

"Mommy, please? Please mommy, I promise I won’t make a mess." She begged.

"Only if you promise, baby girl," I said picking her up as Demetrius fixed the stack of pancakes, I put on a good amount of whipped cream, and Payton put on the cookie crumbles.

We walked to the living room and we put on Frozen for our little princess. Demetrius and I finished our food and laid on the couch together. Payton soon finished her breakfast, without making a mess, and she came over cuddled close up to me, as I to Demetrius.

"Mommy, Daddy?" Payton asked.

"Yes sweetie," I said.

"Can we go to the castle so I can see grandpa and grandma and great grandma?" She asked.

"Yes, princess," Demetrius said and Payton got up and ran to her room to change.

"How much sleep did you get?" He asked me as he sat down across from me.

"Not much, an hour maybe?" I said as I ate my pancakes.

"Baby what happened year ago, it won’t happen again" He told me sternly.

"It could happen again," I said as I started to think back at the painful memory.

That night I woke up and heard my one year old Payton screaming at top of her lungs. I got out of bed and rushed to her room and saw Zoey holding my baby girl and Abigail making baby noises at her. I screamed on top of my lungs and Demetrius rushed in cloaked in his power that came with his curse, the Lord of Shadows.  I grabbed Payton and Demetrius attacked them, but they ran off. We haven’t seen them since. Ever since then I haven't slept a whole lot and I would watch Payton, staying in her room. I could hardly even sleep at all. We even have wolves from my pack patrolling the house to make sure nothing happens while we are asleep, but I could never sleep at night, even if I tried.

"Mommy! Daddy! I ready, can we go now?" She asked as she ran down in her favorite red boots and ladybug skirt.

"Yes let's go, baby girl," Demetrius said. He picked her up and walked over to me and kissed my forehead and said, “Everything is going to be ok, love.”
