(C/N)= child name)

Maven caught your eye immediately when you were teens. He was an eye catcher, a master of seduction.

At first, he didn't understand why you didn't find your way into his heart. Was it your friends, the assholes that try to control Norta? Was it the way your eyes squint as you look at the other students the powerful kids deemed unwanted?

But somehow he ended up wanting you. It was a weird sensation he couldn't believe he felt. Was it because of your genius smile? Was it your endless laugh? Or was it the competition, knowing that everybody else wanted you.

He was competitive, he was jealous, he was perfect. And so were you. That's how perfectly you two ended up being together. Whenever he was with you he felt a happiness he never felt with any friends or family. Whenever he held your hand he forgot about the competition and his evil intent. He just remembered you, and the way you brought out his genuine heart.

He felt like an errant lover to you because he began to love you for who you really were, not how much you would credit him.

"Say aaaahh, (C/N)." You coo, holding up a mechanical spoon in front of your toddler. Maven stood behind you, rubbing your back. He looked down at his child as they got a mouthful of baby food. He smiles, his heart racing as his kid looked up at him with their blue eyes.

"They have such beautiful eyes," You add as you wipe the child's mouth. "And perfect blood too, thanks to us." Maven runs his hand on their head, feeling them relax under his heat.

They giggle, leaning into his touch. His heart tingles at the sound.

"Wait until they become royalty," you whisper with a sinister tone. Maven nods, smirking.

"One day, they'll make my crown." He adds before kissing your head, his eyes never leaving the infant. They laugh while eyeing him, almost confirming what he said.

"Let's hope they become stronger than us as they develop," you whisper to yourself. Maven can't help but agree though the thought twists his stomach. He hates how whenever the topic of raising a child comes to mind he thinks of his mother. But he's lucky he has you, telling him what is harmful and what is helpful. You sigh in relief, "And then again, they're our child, I assume people will treat them like royalty already."

If the times were different and he never fell in love with you, he would still be able to admit that you are such a charm. You always say the right thing and how to make people feel hopeful.

You laugh, standing up and facing him. Your gold and green dress is wrinkles because of days of not being taken off. Maven looks at your body, loving how you still remained beautiful after years with him.

He didn't even realize you were touching him until your fingers pull him closer, bringing him into a kiss.

If you were anybody else, he'd push you away. But you're you, the person who continuously managed to show him the light in the dark and the hope in his despair.

He kisses you back, feeling delicate in your touch. As soon as your child starts making noises again, you pull away and tend to them. Maven smiles, loving how amazing of a parent you grew to become.
