6 // Our fight

Erika's POV:
Erika: Hailey, right?
Hailey: yup.. this is awkward. I wanna start fresh with you. I didn't know you were gonna be the head captain. Otherwise I wouldn't have acted like that.
Erika: Yeah, no problem..

We talk a little more and i realize i can not be friends with this chick. Not only is she seeing Jake, aside from that.. she is really gossipy and clingy. (Real life Hailey is not like this at all btw😂) She wouldn't stop talking about Jake, as if they knew each other for a long time. I manage to get through our conversation and then I met the rest of the girls. They all get to know each other too.
Once I'm done with practice, I go home and go straight to my room.
I was annoyed that the slut (im so sorry hailey, ily) was going to be on my cheer team.. all year.
I guess Chance noticed I was annoyed because he came in my room and sat next to me.

Chance: what's wrong?
Erika: Cheer.. just stressing me out.
Chance: but you love cheer?
Erika: yeah, but being head captain is a big responsibility.

I lied. I couldn't let him know the real reason why i was annoyed.
Chance: yeah, I guess you're right... anyways you said you wanted to talk to me today.
Erika: Oh yeah..
Chance: what's up?
Erika: So I know you don't want me really dating.. but I have an idea.
Chance: uh oh. I already don't like this.
Erika: hear me out, please! okay.. what if it was someone... i don't know.. hypothetically speaking.. like Logan. Or Tony.
Chance: hypothetically? Or in real life? Erika.. don't tell me you're messing with either one of them.

He started to get pissy in his voice.

Erika: I'm not. But I think they both like me a lot.
Chance: do you like them?
Erika: i dont think so, not in that way... but I like the way they've been treating me. It's a different kind of attention.
Chance: look id rather you not, because if they break your heart then im going to have to break them.. id rather it be someone im not associated with in any way.
Erika: well.. fine I guess. Only because you're my brother and their your friends.

He gets up and hugs me.
Chance: hey look, I know you think you might want a boyfriend, right now.. but I promise, the guys at this school will just use you for sex
Erika: I get it.

We pull away and I smile. Chance kisses my forehead and reassured me that one day, I'll find a good guy that'll treat me so right.
I agree and let him leave. I texted Anthony letting him know that I wasn't going to be able to pursue anything further with him. With that he said he understood and we both agreed just to keep in natural.
I go on with the rest of my day and then fall asleep pretty early.

One month later
I woke up today and I was excited.
The football team won their game last night and Chance wants to throw a celebration party. My mom left on a mini vacation with some new guy.
After school Chance, Tony and I are going to get stuff for the party.
When i got to school, I met up with the squad.

Chance: So there is going to be a party at my house tonight. We just need to spread the word.
Tessa: Uhhhh... like what time?
Erika: For sure 8.
Anthony: byob
Chance: byoa.. bring your own anything, my man.
Erika: where are the pauls?
Tessa: they woke up late.. theyll be here
Chance: Erika, you have classes with them both right now, yeah?
Erika: yeah.... why?
Chance: let them know, and tell them to spread word.

I nod and we all go to first period.
When i get there Logan had a big smile on his face.
Logan: hey babe
Erika: hey babes
Logan: whats up?
Erika: nothing i missed ya this morning, by the way, Chance wanted me to tell you hes throwing a party tonight.
Logan: sweeeet. I need to pick up a couple of new hotties.

I look at him and pretend to be hurt. I know that his flirting is only a joke, but i like to play along sometimes too.
We talk all period long and flirt a little.. just because Chance says i cant date him.. doesn't mean i cant flirt... right?
