A government-funded school full of talented students. They say that if you go there and graduate, you'll be set for life. It was a school of hope. And of course, Hope's Peak was a perfect name.
You don't need to do a lot of things in order to attend. There are only two requirements. The first, you have to already be attending high school. The second, you have to be the very best at what you do. You have to be scouted by the school itself.

I think we should start with an introduction. It would be weird if no one knows who I am.
I'm Lore Akiara. I'm known as the Ultimate Daredevil.
If you think about it, it doesn't really sound like much. I mean, I'm basically reckless. The government just counted it as a talent because apparently, no one's ever seen such carelessness anywhere. Shortly after, my 'career' took off just like that.
The stuff I do is *unbelievably* dangerous. So dangerous, it goes beyond anyone's imagination. People call me crazy for doing it. But for me, it's just making something more exciting.
For example, if you were to ask me if I would prefer jumping off the Burj Khalifa with a parachute or skydiving without a parachute. Of course, I would choose the latter. It just makes things more thrilling! The adrenaline is why I do this kind of stuff. Also, that's how I've always been since I was a kid. It's second nature to me!
Anyway, enough of that. Let's get on with this, shall we?
Here I am, standing if front of *the* famous Hope's Peak Academy. It was a lot more grand than I imagined. It was really tall. Of course it is. It's Hope's Peak Academy! Anyway, I can't wait to see what kinds of people I'll meet! This is a school full of talent, so of course I'll be around lots of different people.
I'm really not all that nervous, if I have to be honest. After all, I've been in a lot of life threatening situations. This is *nothing* in comparison.
I clutched the acceptance letter in my hand. I still can't believe I got accepted to this school. And all because I was just being my careless self!
There was a meeting in the main hall at 8 a.m. And of course, with my careless personality, I arrive at the last minute. I really need to work on my punctuality more. Nah!
"Let's hope I don't die. Hah! Like that'll happen!"
I walked through the gates and looked inside the main hall. I saw no one inside which was surprising. I was taken aback by how fancy the place looked. I looked at the clock and the time was 7 a.m. Wow. I'm an hour early. I must've forgotten to fix the time on my watch. Whoops!
"I can tell a lots gonna happen here."
Looks like I'll be spending an hour here. I'll just kill some time exploring the place then. After that, my new life at this school will start here! At least, that's what I hoped for.

The instant I took my first step inside the main hall, everything became warped and twisted. Everything was twisting and mixing together. It repeated over and over again. But then, everything went dark. The life I knew came to an abrupt end.
I should've realized it sooner. Hope's Peak Academy didn't accept me because of my ultimate talent.
They accepted me so I could experience ultimate despair.
