*Ding dong, bing bong*
The TV turned on. There was static, and a strange, barely noticeable silhouette on the screen.
"Ahem! Ahem! Testing, testing! Mike check, one two! This is a test of the school broadcast system! Am I on? Can everyone hear me? Okay, well then...!"
This voice... It's so playful and not concerned about anything. The feeling returned, and this time, something else along with it. It was the equivalent of someone laughing at the scene of an accident.
"Ahh, to all incoming students! I would like to begin the entrance ceremony at... right now! Please make your way to the gymnasium at your earliest convenience... That's all. I'll be waiting!"
The TV shut off right after that announcement was made. I don't like this one bit.
"What. The. Hell was that just now?" Junko sweated.
"Well then, if you'll excuse me..." Byakuya left immediately.
Why am I not surprised.
"H-Hey! What, you're gonna take off just like that?!"
"Ohh yeah, now I get it! This whole thing was just to get us all pumped for the entrance ceremony!" Hiro laughed in relief.
"Man, thank god it was a joke. I'd be totally freaked if this was real!"
Is this guy joking? How dense *is* he?
But then again, I can't really blame him for feeling that way. I *want* to believe we're at a normal school, having a normal entrance ceremony to welcome us here. But I had a feeling that wasn't going to be the case.
"Alright, guess I'll head out, too. Wonder what they got planned for us next..." after that, Hiro left with a content smile on his face.
"Damn, I was totally looking forward to that nap, too. Why'd they have to go and kill the mood?" Leon complained.
Seriously? How can you think about taking a nap at a time like this?
Shortly after, he left to go join the others.
"W-Wait for me! I wanna go with you!" Chihiro chased after the redhead.
"That is that, then. I will see you all there."
Celeste gave one more of her deceitful smiles before leaving the room with graceful steps.
"N-Not that anyone cares, but I-I'm gonna go, too..."
Toko then left with a slight stumble in her step. Wow, she has really terrible posture. I can't really blame her though. That girl's basically a walking inferiority complex. I have a feeling I'll be saying that a lot.
As everyone had taken off, I just stood there. Frozen, unable to move my feet. That feeling wouldn't go away, no matter how much I wanted it to.
"This... this doesn't seem right," Sayaka whimpered.
"Yeah, that announcement was totally weird," Junko nodded her head in agreement.
She's smarter than she looks. That's *one* good thing that came from her.
"Maybe, but just staying put doesn't mean we'll be safe. Besides, aren't you guys just a bit curious to find out what's going on here?" Kyoko spoke monotonously.
"Well, who wouldn't be? I want to know what's going on here just as much as everyone in this room," I said, in a way to say that it was obvious.
"If we do not move forward, we learn nothing. The only choice is to push ahead," Sakura calmly spoke, as if she weren't afraid of anything.
I'm not looking forward to this at all. All I wanted was a new life at this school and make friends. Oh well. Beggars can't be choosers, as the saying goes.
"They said to go to the gym, right?" Makoto reminded everyone.
We all separately left the main hall, seeing as we're not yet comfortable with being in the company of others at the moment.
I took my time scanning my surroundings. I couldn't stop thinking about how off the entire thing felt. First, I was standing in front of the school. Then I end up in this situation.
Once again, that feeling came back. And this time, it grew every time I took one more step to my destination. Finally, after a seemingly long time, I've arrived at the doors.
"Oh, Lore. Hi."
I turned to see that *adorable* face. He had a small smile, hoping it would cover up his anxiousness. Aww, cute.
"Hey Makoto. Taking the scenic route too, huh?"
He shrugged, "I guess you could say that."
I ruffled his head playfully, hoping that it would ease him up a little. He went stiff before relaxing into my touch.
"Hey. Whatever happens, I'll be here. Okay?" I reassured him.
Makoto blushed before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. After opening them, I saw a newfound determination in his eyes. He nodded to himself then turned to me.
"Got it. And Lore, if you ever need a hand, I'll be right here too."
I was shocked at those words came right out of his mouth. This is the same timid boy who could barely hold a conversation with me. And now he's offering to help. I really do have a school girl crush on him.
"Alright. Let's get going, yeah?"
He nodded, "Yeah."
We opened the doors and saw the rest of the group standing there.
