I stripped down to my underwear and threw my clothes in the hamper. I jumped into bed and tried to distract myself from my god awful thoughts.
My heartbeat increased. Fear and anxiety filled my very core.
I put a hand on my chest.
"Wh-What... why...?"
I put the covers over my body and tried to relax. I tried to slow my beating heart but it didn't help.
Something bad is going to happen.
That was the last thought that has gone through my head before falling into an uneasy sleep.
...
*Ding dong, bing bong*
"Good morning, everyone! It is now 7 a.m. and nighttime is officially over! Time to rise and shine! Get ready to greet another beee-yutiful day!"
I laid in my bed just a bit longer before reluctantly getting up. I reluctantly did the usual morning ritual, even though I just wanted to stay in my bed until I wake up in my own room...
While Sora chases Himari and both end up on my bed...
Then we'd engage in a pillow fight, until it's time for me to go head off to work...
...
...Too bad things don't go the way we want them to.
After I got ready, I walked out of the dorm, too tired to remember locking the door.
By the time I arrived, a few people were there. Everyone greeted me with smiles on their faces. I greeted them back, but not having the same energy they did.
We talked for a bit. We shared a few laughs and smiles. Everyone was having a normal conversation.
But we know that this wasn't normal. We were trying to make it normal, but no matter how hard we tried, the reality we're in is always reminding us that there's nothing we can do about it.
I continued anyway, since this was the only way to distract me from my own thoughts. They've been plaguing me ever since we got here.
For some reason, the feeling of forgetfulness rose within my mind.
I couldn't focus on anything else. It won't leave me alone.
What am I forgetting?
What am I trying to remember?
Think Lore, think!
I looked around the dining hall, counting each moving body in the area. Doing my silent role call. I counted over and over, until...
...
...
Before I knew it, the realization hitting me was the equivalent of a handful of bricks falling on top of me.
I ran out of the dining hall in a hurry, my feet controlling where I go.
I bumped into Byakuya on the way. He grabbed my arm and pulled me toward him.
"Where exactly are you going?"
I pushed him out of the way with all I had, since I was too distressed to use my full strength, before entering the dorms. Without thinking, I entered Makoto's room and stopped.
As if everything would fall apart with my careless footsteps, I cautiously walked into the room.
I slowly walked to the door. I carefully twisted the knob, noticing that it was about to fall off.
When the door creaked open, I was appalled at what I saw in the bathroom. I held it in as much as I could and succeeded, but left a disgusting and burning taste in my throat.
What I saw, was Sayaka's corpse, lying on the bathroom floor covered in her own blood.
A scream had snapped me out of my appalled state. I turned and caught Makoto in my arms.
Everyone ran in here and saw it. Most of them panicked while a select few remained silent.
A ringing sound echoed and I heard one of the monitors turn on.
"A body has been discovered! After a certain amount of time, which you may use however you like, the class trial will begin!"
The monitor turns off, and the entire room had fallen into a deafening silent.
"The first killing has begun!"
At this point, I've become accustomed to Monokuma appearing out of nowhere.
"Meet me in the gym and I will provide all the details!" Monokuma disappeared as quickly as he reappeared.
The entire room was filled with a suffocating silence before someone broke it. And not in the best way possible.
"What the fuck just happened?!"
"Wh-Whoa! This is totally not a joke!"
"You *just* realized that?!"
Chaos was about to ensue until a shout silenced all of them at once.
I felt eyes on my very being as they all went quiet.
I was unaware that I had said anything until now. I told Hiro to place Makoto on my back before I stood up effortlessly. I made sure he was holding on to me tightly.
"Now isn't the time to panic. We can't afford to do anything unnecessary."
"All this coming from the Ultimate Daredevil herself."
I was right about to punch Byakuya for being an ass until Kyoko spoke.
"You're right. We should do what Monokuma says for now."
"Like hell I'm doing that!"
"It's obvious he k-killed her! Why should I listen to h-him?"
Chihiro cried, "Who would do such an awful thing...?"
"Like, there is *no* way I'm going!"
"We could end up having the same fate as Sayaka if we don't obey his rules."
I wanted to defy Monokuma as much as everyone in this room. I wanted to give him a piece of my mind along with a beating.
Under normal circumstances, I would have rebelled against something like this. I would've had no problem, not give a damn about the consequences. But since other lives were involved, I couldn't let anything happen to them.
And Kyoko was right. We don't need any more... casualties.
I walked out of the bathroom while carrying an unconscious Makoto. I glanced at everyone before walking away, but not without saying a word.
"I'll see you guys there."
