One Guy in the Background

"I rather stay in the background, with no sound.

With no one to bug me, and no one around.

No one to refuse,

No one to talk to.

No confusion of what I say.

People say that I'm just shy,

Or maybe that I hate everyone who comes near.

But I promise I just don't want anyone to waste their time.

I'm not that much,

I'm just a guy in a rush,

To stay in time.

I rather stay in the background, with time on my side.

So I don't have to say any more goodbyes.

I rather stay in the background, all on my own.

I'm just an MPC in the real world.

People come by and leave,

I'm like the quest no one would bother to complete.

I'm the guy in the background of that one TV series.

The normal looking expert of blending,

I'm just the guy in the background,

With no dialogue,

And no one to hate nor no one to trust.

I'm just all on my own,

No one questioning why I'm not home.

I'm just that one guy in the background,

Scared to let go,

Of all the attention I grasp,

Call me a hag,

But I rather die than let go.

I know I must play my part,

After all, the heroes are about to depart.

I must stay in the area meant for me.

I'm just the guy in the background,

No one around.

The guy that would not talk to you.

I'm just the guy in the background,

Too scared to make a sound.

That is me, watching the tiny screen.

Yeah, that's me.

That's me!

I'm just the guy in the background writing letters.

The guy in the background bound by fetters.

I'm just the guy in the background with no confrontations.

I'm growing so impatient.

Where's my line?

Where's my benign savior?

Maybe I'm better off without this heinous behavior.

But I don't wanna be.

I wanna be the shining star of a film.

I wanna show the world I'm much more than a filler.

I wanna tell my story,

But I wasn't cast that role in my reality."
