I slip the black dress over my head and watch it fall onto my body. I grin to myself at the sight of it, it's really pretty and compliments me well. After I put on my heels, I apply my makeup and spray on my favorite perfume.

The last thing I need to do is curl my hair and then I am fully ready to hit the formal. As I am getting the curling iron ready, Jordyn enters the room and goes straight to her desk. I watch as she opens her textbook and sits down on the wooden chair. I turn around and look at her, letting out a breath.

"You aren't going to the formal?" Not that I was expecting her to, I just want to clear the air.

"Nope." She shakes her head. "I have a lot of homework."

I turn back around and begin to curl my hair. "You should go, it's gonna be fun."

"No thanks." She flatly responds, clearly uninterested.

I nod, getting the hint. I let out a small sigh as I continue to twirl the curling iron through my black hair. It sucks that things were going well between Jordyn and I and now it's all ruined. It doesn't take long for me to complete the look. I pick up the can of hairspray and lightly spray it throughout my hair so it stays good for the night.

The light knock on my door indicates it's time to get the night started. I walk over and see Ethan standing there smiling at me. He's wearing a navy sports jacket with matching dress pants. His hair is combed up and he looks really handsome.

"Wow, you look great." He states while leaning in and placing a kiss on my cheek.

"And you look really handsome." I compliment him back with a grin. I quickly walk over to my desk and grab my purse. I make sure to bring my lipstick with me to reapply later.

"Ready?" He asks as he steps further into the room.

Jordyn turns to look at us, her eyes stare Ethan up and down. "Great, there's two of them." She rolls her eyes.

Ethan gives her a confused look. "What?"

"We're leaving now, bye Jordyn." I flash her a fake wave as I pull Ethan out of my dorm.

"What was that about?" He chuckles.

"She probably saw Grayson around campus and thought he was an ass." I shrug, hoping he doesn't suspect anything. "I don't know, she's weird."

"Yeah, I can tell." He laughs again as he holds onto my hand. We make our way outside and begin to walk across campus. The formal is being held in a more secretive building, they usually block it off for events like this.

"I'm warning you now, my teammates are bringing alcohol." He turns to me. "I don't want you to get sick again."

"I'm never drinking that much again." I sigh as we walk. After what happened the last time, I never want to drink a drop of alcohol ever again. "Are you going to be drinking?"

"Yeah," He shrugs, "but not that much."

I nod slowly as I look down at my heels clicking against the concrete. I don't know why Ethan even needs to be drinking at a school event. We enter the building and the hall is decorated beautifully. There are flowers everywhere and everyone attending is dressed up in gorgeous dresses and suits.

"Wow, this place is really nice." I admire it.

"Yeah they do it up every year." Ethan nods as he leads me into the large room where the actual formal is being held. It looks just like a ballroom, there are many tables and a dance floor in the middle. I feel like I'm at prom all over again.

Ethan walks us over to where Max and a few of his other friends are. I take a seat and smile. "Hey, Max." I beam.

"Taylor, wow you look amazing." He eyes me up and down. "You really clean up nicely."
