After a horrible night of endless tossing and turning I was finally able to drag myself out of my comfortable bed.I groaned loudly to myself and started my morning routine, all the while just wanting to jump right back into my bed. After taking a bath, getting dressed and eating my breakfast I was on my way to the studio. My mood only darkened when I saw the long line of vehicles on the main road.Other women would act this way when they're on their time of the month.Me?Oh I luckily got Kevin to worsen my days and give me bad dreams.Lucky me.
I finally pulled up at the studio, cursing myself for hitting my foot on the door and trudged my way lazily into the studio. After seeing my employess working so happily I thought to myself,"Suck it up,Charlotte.Just put a damn smile on your face".And so I did.Even though my smile looked slightly strained and a little strange,I kept it on my face and it seemed to have my workers convinced. After some time I finally took the forced smile off my face and went to work.
About half an hour later Marshall stepped into the studio and that's when I managed put the smile back onto my face.I turned around, ready to greet him and saw that he was already looking my way.I said a polite good morning and followed his instructions when he gestured for me to come closer towards him.
"Hey,I know you said you wanted to get a look at the main office. You can get to see it now if you want to"He said and burried his hands into his pockets,a common action of his.
"That'll be great"I said and smiled, reminding myself not to stare too long into those deep blue eyes.
Marshall told me to follow his lead and I happily did. After a few seconds of walking through an empty hall and passing a toilet he opened the door for me to enter the office.
I wasn't expecting any furniture to be in the room but a large, lonely desk was in the middle. There were four windows in total and even though the top view of the office seemed acceptable I looked down and creased my eyebrows. The floor was filled with unplesant cracks and the wood was beginning to strangely tear apart. That really had me wondering. How old was this place?
"It's not much at all but hopefully you can save it for us"He said with a smile on his face and leaned against the desk.
"I already have a few ideas in my head"I said and looked through the window.
From there I could see the busy street miles away and other classy buildings surrounding this one.I turned around, ready to tell Marshall about my opinion of the view but jumped a little when I realised that he was only centimetres away from me.
"Sorry to scare you.I just wanted to talk to you about something"He said and scratched the back of his neck while looking at the damaged floor.
"Well go ahead,I'm listening"I said and leaned against the wall.
"After chatting with you in the studio the other day I kind of well..thought we got to know each other a little better.I can't help but feel a little concerned about something..."
I knew he was going to bring up something about me and Kevin at the restaraunt. Not that I minded at all.He had seen me crying on a date.I didn't really expect him to leave it at that.
"It kind of upset me to see you crying on your date.I hope this isn't too personal, but are you okay?"
I smiled at him to show that I didn't mind his question.I was honestly flattered that he cared.
"I'm fine I guess. It wasn't really a date. He's just an old friend of mine"I said and removed the piece of hair from my face
"You can tell me if he's bothering you,Charlotte"He said and looked at me with worry in his eyes.
