(Melia's POV)

I lay back on Lilac, my Night Fury's, back. We were supposed to be surveying the island to make sure everything was normal.
"Hey, Melia. I think you need to see this" Lilac called to me. I sat up and followed her gaze to see movement below the tree line.

"It might just be a dragon." I protested only to have Lilac hit me with her ear-fin, "Ow! What was that for?!"

"You know the drill, Melia. We have to check it out."

"Fine." I groaned, as Lilac dove below the tree line to where we saw the movement come from. Once we were there, Lilac landed in the grass, growling as we saw something unbelievable. There, laying in the grass was a man, a Skrill standing over him protectively. I examined the man from my viewpoint and saw that he had four arrows sticking out of his back. I quickly climbed off of Lilac's back and slowly started walking toward the man. The Skrill eyed me warily, but seemed to know that I was not a threat.

"Is he alive?" Lilac asked, staying where she was.

"Yes. At-At least, he-he was when I-I landed." the Skrill answered in a masculine, static-like voice.

"What's your name?" I asked, pressing my fingers to the man's neck. I let out a sigh of relief when I felt a pulse, but I became concerned because of how slow it was.

"My-My name is-is Leiptr." the Skrill informed me.

"Well, Leiptr, I am Melia and that's Lilac." I informed before continuing, "Now that we're all introduced, can you please help me."

"Of-Of course. What do-do you need-need?" Leiptr asked, moving so that he was standing right next to me.

"I'm going to need to bring him to my home. That's where all my medical stuff is." I explained. Leiptr nodded in understanding, extending his wing so that I could get the man on his back. As soon as I had gotten the man onto Leiptr's back, I mounted Lilac and we flew towards my home on the island. As I turned to look at the man on Leiptr's back, I wondered why I was helping him. As far as my knowledge went, all humans tried to hurt dragons, so why was I helping him. As I thought about it, I realized that maybe it was because a Skrill, a rare dragon that wasn't easy to bond with, had protected him. I shrugged it off for the time being and continued fly, Leiptr staying close as he followed.
