(Melia's POV)

I woke up the next morning, Red snoring softly in his sleep. I looked over at Screech who was still sleeping in the corner, showing me that it was early in the morning and the sun hadn't risen yet. Careful not to wake Red or Screech, I got out of bed, changed into a dark purple tunic and dark grey pants , and walked out into the tunnel with a satchel. I paused in a room where I kept some supplies and grabbed a knife and two small jugs of Changewing acid, stuffing them into my satchel before moving on. When I got to the dining room/kitchen, I stopped to see Leiptr and Lilac sleeping in the corner, Viggo sleeping with his back leaning against Leiptr's side. I bit my lip, wondering if this was such a good idea. Finally, I walked over to the closed cave doors, opening one just slightly before running like a Speed Stinger through the trees. I ran for a few minutes before stopping at a clearing where some Deadly Nadders were sleeping. I quietly creeped down a hill and into the clearing, sneaking towards a sleeping, female Deadly Nadder with pale purple scales and a white underbelly.

"Windracer

"Windracer. Windracer, wake up." I whisper-yelled, tapping her snout.

"What?" Windracer whined, tiredly opening her ice blue eyes.

"Can we go for a fly?" I asked.

"Depends. Where're we going?" she asked.

"Off the island." Windracer was fully awake now.

"Seriously?! You actually want to leave the island!" I nodded. "Alright. Let's go."

<Time Skip>

It had been about an hour and the sun was finally rising on the horizon. When I looked back, I couldn't see the island anymore.

"Exhilerating isn't it." Windracer remarked, looking over her shoulder at me.

"Yeah." I said, breathlessly. As we continued forward, I noticed a ship up ahead and what seemed to be a black and purple Nadder flying over it, avoiding arrows. I squinted at the sail before gasping.

"Windracer, that's a hunters ship." I remarked. As we started to soar above the ship, the hunters started to shoot at us too. "Windracer, dodge!" She did as she was told. Suddenly, a dragon proof chain wrapped around Windracer's ankle. As quickly as I could, I grabbed a jug of Changewing acid from the satchel around Windracer's neck and opened it, spreading the acid over the chain. In just a couple of seconds, the chain broke, but as Windracer flew forward I lost my balance, falling off her back and towards the ocean.

"Melia!" Windracer cried, dodging another arrow. I swiped my hand in front of my face, signalling her to go back to the island and get help before diving head-first into the ocean. I looked up just as a dragon proof chain shot down into the ocean, wrapping uncomfortably around my waist before pulling me out of the water and up to the ship. When I was pulled onto the ship, two hunters grabbed me by my elbows, forcing me to walk up to a dark haired male human with tan skin, a scar over his eye, and a crimson tunic made of dragon scales.
