(Melia's POV)
I opened my eyes to see that I was no longer on Leiptr with Viggo and Red. In fact, everyone was no where to be seen.
"Hello? Can anyone hear me?" I called out, sitting up from my lying position to look around at my surroundings. I could tell that it was nighttime based on the starry sky above my head and the huts surrounding me where of the Village of Lycan, but this village was abandoned. I stood, looking around. As far as the eye could see, there was no one. No humans nor dragons walking the dirt paths. "Lilac? Leiptr? Windracer?" Still no response. I started to walk past the huts, trying to find someone who could explain what was going on. "Viggo? Red?" I called out, cupping my hands over my mouth so that my voice echoed in the night sky. The only noise that responded was the whistling of the night air rushing past my ears. I was about to call out for someone again, but stopped when I tripped over something. I groaned, rubbing my head in pain before looking behind me to see what exactly I had tripped over. My eyes widened in fear and I screamed at the horrid sight. Lying there on the ground covered in dirt and dried blood was Anastasia in her dragon form, her once laughing golden eyes now dead and cold. I backed my legs away from her, tears spilling from my eyes.
"Hey, you! Stay where you are!" a male voice called out. I turned my head to see a male human wearing a Zippleback skin vest standing a few feet away, a crossbow in his hands. I immediately got to my feet and ran, passing by huts and more dead versions of my Lycanwing family, all of them in their dragon forms. Fenris. Lizzy. Henry and Hugo. Victoria. Monica. I stopped running, my tears stopping as I stared frozen at what used to be Elder Edgar's treehouse, now demolished and what made it all worse was the body of Elder Edgar hung from a tree by his wings and neck, his Scauldron tail swinging lifeless in the breeze.
"No..." I whispered, breathlessly, hoping that my mind was playing tricks. I backed up only for my back to hit something solid that wasn't there before. I was about to run when the person behind me wrapped their arm around my waist, locking me in place against them while the other held something sharp to my throat.
"You escaped me once. You won't escape me again." the person holding me captive hissed in my ear. I froze when I heard that voice.
"What do you want from me?" I asked, trying to escape Krogan's grip.
"I want you to bring the 'King of Dragons' to me." That title again. Was this "King of Dragons" really that important?
"I can't." I stated. Krogan obviously didn't like this answer because he pressed the sharp object which I now knew as a knife closer to my neck, drawing small beads of blood.
"You mean you won't." Krogan growled.
"What is he talking about? I don't even know what the 'King of Dragons' looks like let alone how to call it." I thought.
"It seems you need some persuading." Suddenly, a dragon hunter came out from behind one of the huts, a scared Red in his arms.
"No! Leave him alone!" I cried out, struggling in Krogan's grip.
"If you don't want your precious dragon to die at such a young age, I'd suggest you do as I've asked." Krogan snarled.
"I already told you that I can't! I don't know how to call it!" I protested, tears spilling down my cheeks.
