(Viggo's POV)

I groaned as I opened my eyes, my entire body sore from my wounds. I tried to sit up, but for some reason it felt like my entire body was paralyzed. I looked around, trying to see where I was and realized that I was no longer in the dragon hunters' base, but I am still in a cave. At least, I believe I am in a cave. I was lying on a bed instead of a stone floor like I had been when I fell unconscious. I struggled to sit up, leaning back on the headrest when I completed the difficult task. I looked around the cave to get my bearings. The surroundings were kind of out of place for a cave. There was a desk placed against one of the walls, a chest resting at the foot of the bed, and a small table was sitting next to the bed, a couple books and a jug of some kind of liquid on it. There wasn't much light in the cave, the only light source actually visible were a few candles that were lit with very small flames. I squinted as my eyes adjusted to the darkness and my breath hitched as I caught sight of the creature that was lying in the corner of the cave. It looked like a large, white Whispering Death with light blue spikes. I would've thought it was dead if not for the light snoring sound that it made signifying that it was only sleeping.

Suddenly, two sets of footsteps echoed through a tunnel that led into the cave, one of them a dragon's. With much difficulty, I lay down on the bed once more, pretending to still be unconscious as the footsteps drew closer. The dragon's footsteps continued into the room, but the footsteps of the person paused in the doorway. The dragon's footsteps stopped and it made noises that sounded similar to a Night Fury's, but that was impossible. The Night Fury belonging to Hiccup Haddock was the only one of its kind left in existence.

"Lilac, please speak quieter. Screech may be a heavy sleeper, but that doesn't mean the injured man is." a female's voice scolded the dragon. As if it understood what she said, the dragon roared quietly. "I know, I know, but Leiptr asked us to help him and that's what we are doing." the woman remarked. Her footsteps echoed through the cave as she made her way to the bedside. The woman pressed her fingers to my neck, probably checking for my pulse. After a few seconds, she removed her fingers and pulled the blanket up so that it was just under my chin. There was the sound of the dragon making a soft growling noise followed the sound of wood scraping against stone. "Yes, he's alive and no, I'm not going to throw him to the Speed Stingers just because he's wearing a belt that has the hunter's insignia." the woman stated. The dragon made noises that sounded like it was annoyed as the scratching of charcoal on paper filled the cave. I dared to open my eyes and caught sight of a woman with dark hair sitting at the desk. She was writing something on a piece of paper with a charcoal pencil. To my surprise, a Night Fury with purple marking sat behind her, looking over her shoulder. My mind hurt as it swarmed with questions and drowsiness. My eyes grew heavy and I decided to sleep once more, so I closed my eyes, drifting off to sleep.
