(Melia's POV)
Lilac stood next to me, glaring at the former hunter sitting at the table. Leiptr was sitting behind him, purring contently as the man scratched the scales on the Skrill's snout.
"I don't trust him." Lilac growled, eyeing Viggo with distrust.
"I don't know. Leiptr seems fine with him." I pointed out, shifting my position so that all my weight was placed on one foot.
"Just because a dragon is fine with him, doesn't mean that the hunter is trustworthy." Lilac grumbled, turning her head to look at me, her ear-fins perking up when she saw me eyeing her. "Okay fine. Former hunter, but that doesn't mean he isn't mind controlling Leiptr." I looked back at Viggo and Leiptr, repeating Lilac's words over and over in my head. I sighed knowing that Lilac was probably right. I had lived most of my life knowing that almost every human that lived past our borders was a dragon killer. The only human that lived on this island was me and the dragons only kept me alive because when I shipwrecked here I had been an innocent child. A child that loved dragons, living oblivious to the war going on between my kind and theirs. When the dragons of this island took me in, they knew that I was different. They knew I was special. I learned how to fish, run as fast as a Speed Stinger, hold my breath longer than any human, swim as fast as a Scauldron, and roar like a real dragon. The only difference between my roar and the roar of every dragon species that's been to this island, is that my roar is known among dragons as the call of the alpha species. Having the call of an alpha laid a huge weight upon my shoulders causing me to grow up knowing that I was meant to live among dragons as a leader. I shook my head, forcing myself back down to earth as I looked at Viggo. I knew Lilac was right. For many years, myself and the dragons of this island have rebuffed the hunters' passage to our island by sea and now, by sky ever since Singetails carrying dragon hunters tried to enter our borders months ago.
"I'm going out." I announced to Lilac. I walked over to the table, grabbing my satchel off of a chair and making my way towards the open doorway.
"Umm... Melia. Are you forgetting something?" Lilac asked, pointedly. I turned towards her, watching as she jerked her head towards where Viggo was sitting. I gave her a questioning look and she huffed in frustration. "You can't just leave a human to roam around the island without watching him, Melia." I face-palmed, realizing she was right.
"Hey, Mister Not-A-Hunter, you coming or what." Viggo looked at me with an annoyed look.
"That's not my name."
"I don't care." I remarked, turning on my heel and walking out the doorway, calling over my shoulder with a "Come on!"
(Viggo's POV)
I didn't exactly understand Melia's sudden hostility. She looked quite nervous when she first saw me, but now she acted like she didn't want me around. I wasn't exactly sure why she even healed me in the first place if she knew I was a dragon hunter. I was about to ignore her and just sit here till she left so I could find outwhere I was, but I heard growling behind me and turned to see Melia's Night Fury giving me look of warning. I stood up, following Melia out of the cave and into a forest.
"Keep me in your sights and you won't get lost. If you do get lost, I suggest finding some cover before nightfall." Melia instructed me. I turned toward her, somewhat thinking she was joking, but when she gave no sign of trying to be humorous, I grew slightly concerned. I followed close behind her, the sounds of rustling tree leaves and the crunching of grass beneath our feet the only noises that surrounded us. I looked behind me to see if I could spot the cave, but the trees were too tall and too close together that I couldn't even see the mountain it was carved into. I turned back towards Melia only to see that she had disappeared.
"Melia?" I called out, knowing that she probably didn't get that far ahead. Ilistened to my surroundings, but there was no answer. I started walking through the forest, trying to find Melia. Hopefully, I could find her or the cave before nightfall like she said.

(Melia's POV)
I leaned in the doorway of the cave, looking out at the towering trees of the forest.
"He's still not back?" Lilac asked, coming over to stand next to me. I hummed in agreement, looking up at the sky as darkness fell and the moon rose. "Want to explain why you left him in the forest when I told you not to leave him unaccompanied?"
"I didn't know he wouldn't be able to keep up with me until I stopped running and turned around to see him gone." I answered.
"You do realize that if they find him, he's dead." Lilac growled. I pinched the bridge of my nose with my thumb and forefinger.
"Yeah, I know. That's why I told him to find cover before nightfall if he lost sight of me."
"How confident are you that he's actually going to follow that order?"
"Not very." I turned towards where Leiptr was lying on the ground, "Hey, Leiptr. Want to come with us to find your human friend?" Leiptr perked up.
"Is he-he in trouble?" Leiptr asked.
"If we don't find him, he'll earn more than a few arrows in the back."
