(Melia's POV)

I leaned over my table, sketching a drawing of Leiptr and Lilac in the dim candlelight. It was nighttime and the two Striker Class dragons had fallen asleep together. I had closed the large cave doors for the night, so moonlight was not something I could use to light the room. I was about finished with the drawing when I heard footsteps coming from the tunnel. I turned to see Viggo exiting the tunnel. As I watched him, I noticed his hair was disheveled and he wasn't wearing his shoulder pads or belt.

"I didn't expect you to still be awake." Viggo commented, pausing by the tunnel entrance.

"I didn't expect you to be awake either. You have a bad dream or something?" I remarked. He didn't answer. "As long as you're awake, can I ask you some questions?"

"I believe that I don't have much of a chose." Viggo answered, walking over and sitting down in the chair across from me.

"How exactly did you come to be a dragon hunter?" I asked, closing my sketchbook.

"My parents were dragons hunters as well as my grandparents. My father was chief of the dragon hunters like my grandfather. For most it's the eldest son that would be chief, but among the dragon hunters, it's all up to which of the chief's children wins in a game of Maces and Talons."

"Maces and Talons?"

"It's a game played by the heirs of the chief's to prepare them in strategizing battles."

"So if the chief of the dragon hunters had more than one child, he'd have them play a game of Maces and Talons to see which one would be their successor?"

"Yes. I... had a brother. My father had us verse each other in a game of Maces and Talons. I won, dubbing me the new chief of the dragon hunters."

"If you're the chief of the dragon hunters, why did you have four arrows sticking out of your back, the hunters insignia carved into their arrowheads." Viggo growled in irritation and stood from the table, slamming his hands on the table.

"Why you little-"

"Alright, Viggo. Calm down. I'm sorry if I upset you, but I was just asking a question. You don't have to answer if you don't want to." Viggo averted eye contact and sat back down, taking a deep breath. I tapped my fingers on the table rhythmically as an idea came to me. "How about instead of just me asking you questions, you ask me some questions too." Viggo considered my offer for a moment.

"Alright then, where did you find your Night Fury?" Viggo asked.

"Well, she actually found me. She was searching the perimeter of the island when she found me and Screech on one of the beaches."

"Screech?"

"He's a white, oversized Whispering Death with dark blue eyes. He was newly hatched when I first arrived on this island."

"That's quite interesting."

"Alright, my turn. How did you create such a strong bond with the Skrill?"

"I honestly am not sure. It might have something to do with the fact that I freed it from where the hunters had him chained."

"Water?" Viggo nodded. "That sounds like a good enough reason for a Skrill to trust you. Now, what's your next question?"

<Time Skip because I can't think of anymore questions at the moment and I'm really tired>

Me and Viggo sat, quietly laughing, a cup of water in front of each of us.

"Okay, my turn." I remarked, "You said earlier that you had a brother. What happened to him?" Viggo stopped laughing and his face fell. I wasn't sure what caused this sudden change in him, but I had a guess.

(Viggo's POV)

I stared intensely at the water inside my cup, memories of that day flooding back. Ryker... My brother is dead... It's all my fault... It's because of me that he's dead... I set the Submaripper on him... Suddenly, a voice cut off my thought process.

"Viggo, are you okay?" I looked up to see Melia staring at me. "You don't have to share."

"No... I think it's about time I talk about it... Maybe then I can finally have some closure."
