This is an AU story.
ANNABETH'S POV
The announcer at the airport just said that Percy's plane had just landed. I had butterflies in my stomach. It had been over a year since I've seen him due to his job. I missed him so much and we face timed every day. He had come back and was gonna stay here for almost a week but then he has to go back. When I heard the news I jumped for joy.
I was standing at the door where the people board off the plane. I waited for a while until I saw a familar puff of messy black hair. It was Percy alright. I started walking towards him and hugged him from behind. He flinched and turned around but calmed down when he saw me. He laughed and hugged me.
I drove him to our small house with our son, Nico. Gods, I missed him so much.
We finally arrived and Nico started to yell and scream while Percy's mom tried to hold him back. Percy's mom had come to watch Nico while I went to get Percy.
"Dada!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. Percy ran towards him and picked him up, even though he was almost 3 now and could walk around just fine.
After we caught up we had dinner and went to bed. I felt like the missing pieces of me had been returned. But it was painful to know that they were going to go away again in just a week.
PERCY'S POV
I was going to stay here for almost a week, well, that's what Annabeth thinks. My boss told me that I could stay and work from home. I hadn't told Annabeth yet, but I'm planning on telling her later on. I want it to be a surprise.
One week later
One amazing week passed with my favorite people and it was the morning of when I was "supposed" to leave. After breakfast Annabeth said,
"Have you packed yet? We're about to leave." She put a smile on but her eyes showed the real emotion inside. I laughed.
"I don't really want to leave actually. I think it'll be better if I worked from home, I mean it's not like my boss said that I could stay and do my work here from now on."
Annabeth caught on immediately, of course. She squealed which was weird for her but she did it anyways. She jumped up and hugged me.
"Nico's gonna be so happy!" She ran off and I just had my goofy smile on the whole time.
