This is an AU story.

ANNABETHS POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. My eyes opened then cringed away from the sunlight that was shining through my small window. After about ten minutes, I got out of bed and changed. Black leggings and a P!ATD shirt. I grabbed my converse and bag and went out the door. I had to run to the bus just like every other morning and if I was lucky enough I would make it. But since I was the last one, I didn't really get a choice of where I sat. And of course, I had to sit next to Percy Jackson, the schools pretty boy. I honestly never found him interesting and kinda boring in fact. I couldn't even get to know him though because of Rachel. Rachel, the schools biggest bully but yet she's the most popular. She's been in love with Percy for years now and if anyone tries to get near him, she makes their life a living hell. I'm glad we don't ride the same bus or else she would be giving me her famous death stare.
It had been about five minutes and there were ten minutes left when Percy said something.
"I haven't seen you around here before, are you new?"
I laughed a little.
"I've lived here for 17 years so pretty much my whole life and we've gone to the same school since second grade."
Percy crossed his eyebrows and frowned. Then smiled. Finally a light bulb!
"I remember you! Weren't you that one girl who kept on correcting the teacher and had to go to the principals office?"
I laughed remembering the details. It was in eight grade in physics class.
"Yup, that was me."
We laughed again but one of his friends started to talk to him in the seat in front of us and after that we didn't talk again.

The school bus pulled up to the parking lot and the herd of kids ran off the bus while the bus driver tried to stop them with no luck. I got off last since I didn't want to get trampled. I walked to the library and saw a familiar face which belonged to none other than Hazel, my best friend, and only friend, since fourth grade. She smiled when she saw me.
"Hey Annie!" She exclaimed.
"C'mon Hazel, I told you not to call me that!"
"Ok fine but you can't call me Haze."
"Deal." We laughed and went to our lockers.

The click clack of high heels made everyone go silent and move out of the way. Rachel Elizabeth Dare, the high school bully. She stopped when she came in front of me and Hazels lockers. She smirked and everyone knew that one of us did something to anger her.
"So, Annie," I cringed at the name, "I heard you say next to my boyfriend this morning. And sweetheart," I cringed again, " he's mine. He loves me, not you. Got it? Good." She started to walk away but I couldn't let her get away with what she said to me. She seemed to hate me the most out of everyone she bullies, though I don't know why.
"You may like him but that doesn't mean he likes you back." I said and Rachel turned. She looked like she was about to blow up.
"Oh, your gonna get it. Just wait." And she stormed off.

Math class. Crap, Percy and Rachel were both in that class along with me and I didn't have Hazel by my side to back me up.
I slowly walked to class but realized that the teacher wasn't there yet for some reason. Rachel was staring me down like I was her next lunch or something. I had enough of it and asked her what she wanted.
"What do I want? Hmmmm let me think. I want you to get away from my Percy." Then she got up and tried to kiss Percy but he didn't let her so she gave up.
Then, something I didn't expect happened. Percy spoke up.
"Alright, first of all, I'm not "your Percy" and second of all, she had to sit next to me on the bus since there were no other seats next to me. Why can't you just let it go. I don't like you and I never will. Your 50 pounds of makeup and another 50 pounds of mean and that's not what I look for in girl. Just leave Annabeth alone."
Everyone was in shock, including Rachel. She scowled at me then sat back down. The teacher finally came and we all acted like nothing happened.

After class, I went up to Percy. I had to thank him for standing up for me there.
"Hey, Percy! Thanks for what you did back there and all."
"No problem. Don't listen to Rachel, she's not worth it. Hey, um, would you like to go meet up somewhere later on? As friends you know." He quickly added the last part in even though it didn't sound very convincing. I can't believe what I'm about to say but he seems pretty nice so I agreed. Tomorrow after school at Pizza Hut.

I got ready for the date- I mean meet up thing. I just wore some jeans, a white t-shirt, and my handy dandy converse.
I wore just a little mascara but that's it since I didn't like make up a lot. And for my hair, I just threw it up into a ponytail and called it a day. I went out the door and drove to Pizza Hut.

After the date- meet up thing I mean, we went home. Percy was actually really nice and nothing like how others said he was. I caught a few feelings for him to be honest but he'd never like me.

The next day at school went by pretty quick until math class.
Rachel walked up to me with flames coming out of her ears.
"How dare you go on a date with my Percy!" And the next thing I knew, everything went black. Rachel had knocked me out. The last thing I heard was Percy yell my name and catch me before my fall.

I woke up in the nurses office with Percy and Hazel sitting next to me. Hazel saw I was awake first and grinned.
"Finally your awake, you've been out for hours now. Schools almost over too."
I tried to get up but Percy pushed me back down.
"You should get your rest. She hit you pretty hard." Everything came back to me now. I laid back down and stared at the ceiling.
After another few hours passed, we went home. Percy drove me home since I shouldn't be driving yet with my head and all. He dropped me off and waited until I was inside safely until he left. That made me smile. I had to stay home for a few days since I had a concussion and Percy FaceTimed me everyday. We became really close actually. He was perfect but he doesn't like me. I had to remember that.

The first day back at school was great since Rachel got expelled for a week. At the end of the day, Percy asked if I could meet him at the beach. He said he'd pick me up since I still couldn't drive yet. I agreed and counted down the hours of when he'd pick me up. It was almost sun down when he came. I climbed into the car and we jammed out to music in the car. Turns out we have the same taste in music.
When we finally arrived we walked up and down the beach with our feet in the water while just talking. It had gotten dark so we sat down. It started to get really cold and I shivered from the wind. Percy took off his jacket and put it over me and hesitantly put his arm around me. I cuddled closer to him. I looked up him. His eyes shined in the moonlight. It looked like a whole different ocean was in his eyes. I could have melted right there. He started to move closer towards me. The next thing I knew, our lips were touching and moving in unison. He was so delicate and cautious, making just the right moves. We stayed like that, listening to each other's hearts beat together. We parted and just stared in each other's eyes.
"I was wondering if you, if you wanted to be my girlfriend?" I was shocked when he asked me that. Every girl in the school was head over heals for him and he chooses to date me?
"Of course." He smiled and I put my head on his shoulder. We stayed like that for hours and it was the happiest I had been in a while.

1,485 words. Not including the author note. I hope this kinda makes up a little for the short ones. I've been going to the beach a lot and wrote this whole story at the beach in two hours. Any-who, I hope you enjoyed, don't forget to vote, comment, and follow! Thanks for reading, bye! ~Eden
