9:45 a.m.

"Oh, crap." I say as I fall of the bed in a mad rush to get ready. Once I am ready without a second thought, I run out of the house and I get in my car. I forgot to eat breakfast. Maybe Demi will have something for me to eat. I pull up to the gate and I type in the code.

020504

I pull in the driveway and I park the car. I see Demi's car. Crap. I am in trouble. I get out of my JEEP and I knock on the door. Kaylie answers it.

"Hey. Come in. My mom is in the lounge room." She says

Demi just looks at me and opens her mouth to say something, but I cut her off.

"Hey, Demi. Sorry I am late. It is just that I was so tired last night, that I completely forgot to set an alarm and I had just woken up at 9:45 and I left the house at 9:50. I am so sorry." I say.

Demi paces back and forth and I look at Kaylie for help, but she shrugs her shoulders and mouths 'Thinking'. After what felt like 5 hours, only 10 minutes, Demi turns to me and looks me right in the eyes. The room turns cold before she opens her mouth.

"Are you finished?" Demi asks me.

"Yes, Ma'am." I say.

Demi glares at me and I cower.

"I thought I told you never to call me that." Demi snaps.

"Well, actually, you told me..." I trail off as I catch Kaylie behind her mother telling me to stop.

"I was telling you what?" Demi asks, clearly annoyed.

"Nothing." I say.

"Tell me" Demi starts to say, but I cut her off

"Tell Me You Love Me." I say, laughing.

Demi glares at me.

"Do you think that reciting my song lyrics, would help your case?" Demi asks.

I open my mouth to speak, but Demi cut me off.

"Rhetorical Question." Demi says, rolling her eyes. "Also, late on your first day? You also broke a spoken rule. Call me Demi." Demi says, taking a deep breath, then jumping right back into it. "Tell me what you were going to say." Demi says, dangerously scary.

"What is was going to tell you was, Well, you told me not to call you Mrs. Lovato, not Ma'am." I said softly looking down.

What am I doing?

"Ok. Well, I am going to the studio and Kaylie is going to a friend's house. I will back soon." Demi says. "Kay, let's go."

They leave, and I start on my job. The list is there, and I complete it all in under 2 hours. It is now noon and I have not even eaten breakfast and I am super hungry. (A- Me, D- Demi)

A: Hey, I didn't eat any breakfast because I was late. Can I get something to eat?

D: Sure. There is something in the fridge.

A: thanks

D: Np

I grab banana off the counter and I wander the house. I open a door on the 2nd floor and it is a recording studio. I walk over to a mic and grab the first guitar I see and tune it to the right chord like I have been doing it all my life. I start to play and sing a song that I made up.

(This song is called Girl in the Toque and I DO NOT own it. It belongs to Disney)

Met her on the first day

Small girl, DJ

Big talent no fluke

Small girl in a toque

Deep in thought she frowns

And he knows he can't stop thinking about her

Her new look, Her new sound, Her new dress

But she won't go changing she knows who she is

He was wasting time with the wrong girl

Kept his feelings hiding, Now the good ones gone

He doesn't even know he loves her

Their just best friends

Think it'll be copetic

Until the end

Oh, love is fragile

Oh, love is got him shook

Now he sees it different everywhere he looks

Girl in the Toque.

When I stop playing the guitar, I hear clapping from the door. I turn around and Kaylie is standing there.

"That was amazing. Where did you learn to sing?" Kaylie asks.

"I don't know. I just fell in love with it at an early age." I say.

"Well, my mom's birthday is three months from today, and I was wondering if you would like to help me out with finding her a present? She is still kinda mad at you, so maybe is you find something for her, then she won't be mad." Kaylie says.

"I don't know." I say.

"Oh, c'mon. You can give it to her and everything." Kaylie says all excited.

"I don't know. I think she would rather spend it with her family and friends, and I don't think that I am a part of that... group." I say.

I push past her at the door and I walk downstairs.
