ALEXIA POV

*****

I wake up to see 4 familiar faces hovering over mine.

"Wha..." I get cut off by Demi walking into the room.

"You passed out. What happened?" She asks, handing me a bowl of strawberries.

I place the bowl of strawberries on the table behind me and I look at Demi.

"It was getting hard to breathe and then the next thing I knew, I passed out." I say.

"Why did you not call my name?" Demi asks.

"Did you not just hear your daughter? She said that it happened like that." Maddie says, snapping her fingers.

I roll my eyes and I walk away. I walk up the stairs and I hide around the corner, listening in on Demi's conversation.

"How long are you guys staying?" Demi asks.

"We are actually leaving when you leave." Grandma says.

"Ok. I just don't know what to do. Is this because of me or Wilmer?" Demi asks.

Tears slowly roll down my face as Demi sighs, picking the bowl of strawberries up and placing it in her lap.

"Wilmer. I blame it on Wilmer all the way. It is not one single bit of your fault." Grandma says.

Demi gives her a hug and walks over to the stairs, Rissa following her. I, quickly but quietly, walk to my room and dive under the covers. I hear a soft rapping at my door and I turn over to see Demi standing there with the bowl in her hand and Rissa behind her.

"Hey. Can we talk?" Demi asks.

I sigh. "Sure."

Demi walks in and sits on the bed, pushing the bowl of strawberries at me. "First, eat."

I huff, taking a strawberry and shoving it in my mouth. I chew it up and gag as it goes down. "Happy?"

Demi narrows her eyes at me. "More."

We sit there for like 10 minutes till I can't eat anymore.

"Demi. What did you want to talk to me about?" I ask, changing the subject.

"So, I am still going away for a while. But, it is going to be longer than I expected." Demi says.

"How long?" I ask.

"10 extra weeks away. 5 in NYC and then I go to Jacksonville for another 5 weeks." Demi says.

"And Kay is still going with you?" I ask.

"Yeah. She is going to see the Miranda's when we are in NYC and then she will be with me in Jax." Demi says. "But, don't worry. She won't be going with us on my TMYLM tour."

Demi turns to Rissa and she sits on the bed.

"Rissa will still be staying with me, right?" I ask.

"Yes. But, your mother and I need to lay down some rules." Rissa starts.

"No skipping meals. No inflicting self-harm. And absolutely, no forgetting to take your meds. That could be the difference between having a good day and a bad one." Demi says.

"Ok, anything else?" I ask.

Demi sighs, not braking eye contact. "I need to weigh you."

I start to freak out. "What! Why?"

"I need to make sure that you don't start losing weight and that you are gaining weight." Demi replies.

I get out of bed and I walk into my bathroom, pulling the scale out from the cabinet. I step on it, scared to see how Demi will react at my low weight.

MARISSA POV

*****

Lexi gets on the scale and I see Demi's eyes go wide. When I say wide, I mean like they were almost popping out of her head, wide. Demi walks back into Lexi's bedroom. She runs her hand through her hair and she sits down.

"Dems. Are you ok?" I ask.

"No." She whispers.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

Demi turns and looks at me. "She is only 56 pounds. For her height, that is severely underweight."

Lexi is 5'1 and 56 pounds.

Demi is right, her BMI is only 10.6.

"Lexibear, how long have you had an eating disorder?" Demi asks.

Lexi looks down. "Ever since the day we went to the studio."

Demi told me that the day they went to the studio was the day that Lexi was kidnapped by Wilmer. That was about 2 months ago.

"How did I not know about this? I am that sucky of a mother?" Demi asks, placing her head in her hands.

I take her right side, and Lexi takes her left side and we grab her in a large hug.

"Demi. I love you. I always will love you and I will never stop loving you. You are the best mother a girl could ever have." Lexi says.

"Dems. You are a great mother. Yes, things may have happened to make you believe that, but you kept on fighting. You kept pushing on and now you are super strong. Never stop being who you are." I whisper in her ear.

We let go and I pry her hands off her face, wiping the tears off her face.

DEMI POV

*****

When Lexi stepped off the scale, I almost freaked out. How did I not notice her losing weight? I mean she was gone for 2 months and she could've lost the weight then.

"Baby. I need to make sure that you get the food that you need and that you get the help that you need. I won't send you to rehab, but you need to promise me that you will try to recover." I say.

"I will. I promise that I will try." Lexi says.

I hold her in my arms and she lays her head on my chest.

"I love you, Mommy." Lexi says.

My heart flutters when Lexi calls me Mommy.

Lexi drifts off into a peaceful sleep.

I get out of bed and I walk over to the scale in Lexi's bathroom. I get on and I weigh myself. 125. That is healthy. I crawl back into bed and fall asleep.
