ALEXIA POV

*****

I wake up and my head is still resting on Mom's chest.

"Morning sweetheart." Mom says, gently combing her fingers through my hair.

"Were you watching me sleep?" I ask.

"Yeah. You're so cute when you sleep." Mom says.

"What time are you leaving?" I ask.

"In an hour." Mom says.

I look straight ahead, and Mom stops combing my hair.

"Baby. I'm sorry I can't take you with me. You know I would love to take you with me." Mom says.

"But, why? Why do you have to leave me with Marissa?" I ask.

"What do you have against Mar?" Mom asks.

"I don't have anything against Rissa." I reply.

"Well, you called her Marissa not Rissa, and the way you said her name makes me think that you don't really like her that much." Mom says.

"No. I love Rissa, but I love you more. I would rather spend time with my mom that I barely know." I say.

"Well, we can facetime and call every day while I am gone." Mom says.

"Ok. I love you, mom." I say.

Mom climbs out of bed and I lay my head on the pillow.

"No. Let's go sleepy head. Get up." Mom says.

"I don't want too." I whine, pouting like a little kid.

"Alexis, don't make me go get my father?" Mom says.

"NO! I wanna sleep." I shout.

I hear mom walk into the hall and yell, "DAD!"

I hear a new pair of footsteps and grandpa walks in the room.

"Alexia Kate Lovato. Your mother told you to get up. She is leaving in an hour and so are we." Grandpa says.

"Please don't call me Alexia." I say.

"Well, then maybe you should wake up on time." He says, walking out of the door.

"Thanks. Now I have to wake up early." I say.

"Well, excuse me that I want to spend time with my daughter before I leave." Mom says.

"Yeah, whatever." I mumble, walking out of the door.

Mom grabs me by the wrist and pulls me back into the room.

"Ow." I say, pulling my arm out of her grip.

Mom grabs my arm, checking for new cuts. When she doesn't see any, she sighs in relief.

"Sorry." I say.

"Babygirl. It's ok. Now, are you ready to go downstairs?" Mom asks.

"Yeah." I say.

We walk downstairs, and mom pulls me to the table.

Mom sits down and pulls me onto her lap, feeding me eggs.

I am so grateful that she did because I probably could not do it myself.

We then walk to the couch and I lay my head on her shoulder. 30 minutes later, mom moves my head onto Rissa's shoulder.

"Baby. We need to go now, and I am so sorry, but you can't come with us to the airport. I love you very much and before you know it, I'll be back." Mom says, kissing my head.

I drift off into a demon filled sleep.
