"I just can't believe I almost kissed him, knowing he has a girlfriend." Jade mumbled, digging her spoon in her ice cream tub.

"Yeah, I feel that." Alia quietly ate another spoonful while listening to Jade rant about last night.

Jade stood silent for a moment before putting her ice cream to the side, looking at Alia. "What's up?" She asked.

"What do you mean?" Alia acted oblivious to what she was talking about.

"You know exactly what I mean." Jade gave her a stern look. "Last time you were this quiet, you were failing senior year."

Alia sighed. "Well, I'm not failing any classes now."

Jade crossed her arms and waited for her to continue. "Then what's up?"

Alia sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Promise not to judge?" She mumbled.

"Alia, I would never." She placed her hand on top of Alia's. "You're my best friend, practically my sister. There isn't anything you can't tell me."

"Please," Alia laughed. "That's what my dickhead of a boyfriend said before my nudes ended up on the school's newsletter."

Jade laughed with her before shoving her gently. "Come on. I almost kissed a taken guy."

Alia gave her a straight face. "I left the party and lost my virginity to Theo. A guy I've talked to like, twice."

"Damn," Jade mumbled as she reached for her ice cream. "You win."

SCOTT'S POV

"You almost kissed her?!" Stiles practically yelled.

I quickly shushed him. "Dude, lower your voice."

"You almost kissed her?" Stiles yelled in a whisper.

I was trying to explain what happened last night to Stiles, who obviously wasn't taking it well. He thinks I should've been smarter and let her ride with Theo and Alia, but the smell of sexual tension was burning through the air. What kind of friend would I have been if I put her through the pain of third wheeling?

At least that's what I kept telling myself.

I groaned before looking at Stiles. "Alright, so what should I do? Do I tell Malia?"

"No!" He quickly said. "Absolutely not. What you need to do is act like last night never happened. You need to put as much distance between you and Jade as possible."

"But won't she just be even more mad if I don't tell her?" I asked while crossing my arms.

"She won't ever know if neither of you bring it up." He stated as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "Malia doesn't know, Jade moves on, happy Scott, happy Malia, happy Jade."

Would I be happy?

"You're right," I nodded.

"Of course I'm right." He patted my shoulder as he walked out of my room.

I groaned again and laid back against my bed. I didn't want to admit it but Stiles was right. I needed to keep my distance from her if it's going to interrupt my relationship with Malia. Although I wanted to do exactly that, another part of me wanted to do the opposite. A ding from my phone caused me to look over.
