"Psst Alia," Jade whispered. "We need to head out.""It's so EARLY." Alia groaned.
Getting up out of bed, Jade slipped on some comfy clothes for the hour drive to their mom's, or well her mom's house that was just outside of beacon hills. They wanted to go spend the day with her because there were no classes today, also hoping to find answers to their questions.
"I know it sucks, but mom's waiting with breakfast made for us." Jade said as she wrapped her hands around Alia's ankles, dragging her out of bed.
They grabbed their bags and headed out of the apartment. Jade looking beautiful and awake, Alia looking messy and quite frankly, scary. Not that it mattered.
Then they drove and drove and drove.
Not really, it was only an hour.—
"MY BEAUTIFUL ANGELS!!" Sandra, Jade's mom ran out of the house into their arms.
"MOM!" They shriek in perfect unison.
Sandra pulls apart from them.
"Look at you two," She sighs. "Let's go inside and get something to eat shall we?"
They grabbed their bags and head into the home they both grew up in and missed more than anything in the world.

ALIA'S P.O.V.
I took a deep breath in, the familar lavender smell of home filling my nose. A weight was lifted off my shoulders when I realized I was finally home.
Maybe this time I can finally muster up the courage to ask about my family, I thought. I hadn't asked much about my family because I was afraid Sandra would be angry. I didn't want to come off ungrateful when she welcomed me into her home with open arms.
Sandra sat us down on the couch and fed us breakfast; eggs and pancakes. Mmm, I missed homemade cooking. Jade and I usually spend our time at Denny's, both too lazy to go through the struggle.
Sandra stopped eating and stared at my blank chest where her mother's necklace once laid. "Alia, darling, where in the world is you necklace?" She asked worry laced in her voice.
I looked up to Jade for help.
"Um, she left it at home." Jade quickly covered me. "We were in such a rush this morning, she didn't have time to put it on." Jade rushed, looking into her mother's eyes hoping she would believe her.
"Yeah, mhm." I played along.
"Oh alright, as long as you didn't lose it or anything." Sandra said eyeing the girls suspiciously.
"Anyways, uh, mom... I have a few questions about my family. Just for a project, you know." I bit my lip praying she would answer some of my questions.
"Of course, anything for your college." She winked. "By the way, both of your grades are exceptional right now. Keep up the good work girls." The corner of her lips curled up. "What would you like to know?"
I took a deep breath getting ready to finally hear some of the answers I'd been craving to know for years.
"Who was my father?"
Jade stiffened next to me. I looked at her to see her looking for answers too. I didn't mean for it to come off so blunt, but my curiosity was overwhelming me.
"Well, he was a businessman. He was a... good man too." She nodded but I knew she was only trying to reassure me. The uneven tone in her voice proved that she knew how I felt towards him. My father was not a good man, he left me and my mom. If he hadn't, maybe my mother wouldn't have died. We could've done something to save her, as a team.
"Don't lie, you know he wasn't a good man. I just want to know what he did for a living, do you know where he is now?" I mumbled.
"Sweetheart, you know I can't answer all your questions-"
"YES, YOU CAN! AND YOU WILL!" I yelled getting angry.
"Okay, okay sit down honey." She said in a stern voice. "And lower your tone, we're indoors."
I nodded my head. "I'm sorry." I fiddled with my fingers and waited for her to continue.
"I understand you're old enough now I just didn't know if you were ready. Now I realize you are." She sighed, her eyes filling with sadness.
"This isn't a school project, is it?" She asked, glancing at both girls.
I sighed and looked at Jade, shaking my head.
"Your father was a businessman, like I said. I don't know what kind of marketing he worked in, but your mother knew. In fact, she was the only one that knew the business he handled." She looked at her plate before connecting our eyes again. "But I do remember he would leave for 'business trips' in the middle of the night. He would always be back by the morning. Your mother would always tell me about it. She made it seem as if he worked for the government, which might be true. There was just something more to it. It was too secretive..."
If I ever listened to anything so intently, this was that moment. My eyes snapped to Jade's once her mom spoke again.
"On every full moon, he had to leave on a 'special assignment'." She sighed, shrugging lightly.
I took in a sharp breath, my stomach dropping to my feet. Jade had turned pale and with widen eyes, she looked right back at me.
"Anyways, one full moon he left on one of his trips. The only thing that was different was that didn't come back." We saw her gulp, her voice soft. "That was the moon before you were born, Alia."
"My necklace, what about my necklace?" I said with a bold face, trying contain all of my confusion. Millions of ideas rushed through my head about my father. I tried not to let my paranoia get the best of me but two words kept repeating in my head. McCall Pack.
"Your mother was a very superstitious person. Not in a bad way, though. She put sage in your locket when you were a child to keep away bad energy." Sandra laughed as her eyes swelled. "She was always insisting we burn it throughout the house."
My throat became heavy as the memories of her sweet laugh replayed. It wasn't just sage, it was wolfsbane... But she obviously had no idea what that was. Jade and I watched her reminisce over her best friend and their memories together. We kept quiet and I realized that it was time for my questions to come to an end. All I knew was that we had to get to get back to Scott and Stiles. They would have to piece this together somehow.
