The ground shook underneath as the car swerved left and right, causing her to lose balance multiple times. Alia groaned when her head came in contact with the tinted window of the van. Her vision remained concealed and voices filled her ears. A blindfold covered her eyes and rope kept her hands tied together. She could feel her head throbbing from the hits she had been taking to the head but ignored it, trying to remember the number of turns. If there was any way of escaping, she would have to know how to get back to the pack. Suddenly, the van had finally come to a halt.A rough voice could be heard across from her and she cringed with disgust, immediately recognizing it.
"Bring her inside."
The blindfold dropped and her eyes slowly fluttered open, looking around the unfamiliar surroundings. Cement walls and darkness were the only thing she could make out. A low groan left her lips from the pounding in her head. She was remembering bits and pieces as to where she was but the continuous blows caused her to blackout.
"Sorry about that, meu amor." A light came on beside her and she gasped, meeting those same cold pair of eyes. "I told him to be gentle but I can understand you're stubborn." His laugh echoed throughout the room as he squatted in front of his daughter. "I understand that stubbornness runs in the family." Alia smirked and spat at him. A growl erupted from him and he gripped her by her hair. "Listen here, girl.
"You're going to behave accordingly and stop being such a pain in my ass." A smirk covered played her lips and she tilted her head, amused from the way she was getting under his skin. "Smile all you want but remember, I'll be the last one laughing. You're in my hands now, what makes you think I won't reconsider our deal?"
The smirk immediately fell from her lips and she grunted when he roughly released her. "What do you mean? Where is he?"
"Funny that you ask." Nate stated, taking the opportunity to return the smirk she once was giving him. "Tell me you didn't think I would simply just let him go? I mean, how dumb can you get?"
Anger filled her veins and she rocked her body, attempting to break free from the restraints. "Damn it, Nathaniel!" She stared at the ground and took in a sharp breath. "What's the point of keeping him here? We gave you what you wanted."
"Who said you were all I wanted?" He chuckled, circling Alia's body that was tied down to the chair. "Maybe there's more to the story than meets your eye." He leaned forward and pressed his lips to her ear. "You know, he would make a good hunter. We've put him to the test for the past multiple weeks, just like how we're going to do with you. Princess, you're going to be incredible."
Alia's breath hitched when his fingers caressed her shoulder. "Put him to the test?"
The other Argent smirked and patted her shoulder, standing straight again. "Come. I rather show you than explain." He motioned for one of the guards to release her, walking away from the scene. Alia furrowed her eyebrows and rubbed her wrists, watching him from a distance.
She glared at the man beside her when he gave her a small shove to follow the man, but she agreed to his orders. Outside the small cement room was a quiet, chilling hallway. It lead to another door which was now opened, figuring that Nate had walked through it. Her dirty combat boots padded against the ground as she made quick strides over to the door, glancing at the man behind her. He narrowed his gun at her, pushing her to continue. A slight eye roll slipped from her before she walked inside.
Behind the next door was a line of cells, similar to the one's that belonged to Eichen. Alia slowly walked down the hallway, glancing at each cellmate. Most seemed dirty and delusional, looking as if they hadn't ate for days. Small insects could be seen crawling around the ground and the smell that hung in the air could suffocate someone. Her arms wrapped around her chest, trying to find comfort in herself. Would she end up like this?
