Nick's POV
Landing in LA felt like a drag; but as soon as we stepped off the plane and stretched our muscles somehow the familiarity makes it feel good to be back.
Phil was there to welcome us back, when he saw me and Miley walking towards him, he smiled and shoved his phone into his pocket. We walked across the big airport lobby, Miley cuddled into me and held my arm tighter as we made our way.
"Aww," Miley cooed "Look at him. He's so excited we're back."
"He's a great guy," I offered.
"Should we tell him first?"
At first I was going to ask her what she meant, but then I realized she was talking about being pregnant. "Nah, family first."
We met Phil in the middle who gave us each quick hugs. "You guys look great. Vacation does you good," He said, observing us "Miley, you're glowing."
I looked over at her who couldn't help but let her mouth hang open and smile. "The weather in Italy makes the perfect bronzer I guess." She said casually.
"You guys really got the light back in your eyes, which is perfect. The show's up and running again, with a brand new team."
Me and Miley exchanged suspicious glances. "Look, I know you guys are still trying to get over what happened, but I guarantee you...this time there wont be no funny business."
I cleared my throat "We haven't really talked about that."
"About what?"
"The show." Miley informed "Surely, Ryan will give us more time to think about it."
Phil looked at us in contempt before looking around the crowded airport, he tilted his head towards the exit. "Let's go, it's gonna be a long drive."
Miley relatched her hand around me as we headed towards the exit where a bodyguard joined us. He gave us a hello nod and I returned it with a smile and 'hey, how's it going?'
The airport was pretty crowded, hence the need for protection, once we reached the car the bodyguard escorted us to the backseat and loaded our luggage into the trunk, afterwards he and Phil took the front seat.
Phil cleared his throat; glance to us and then back to the rearview mirror. "I'm so glad you guys are back, and I'm relieved that your vacation went so well, but we've got to face the facts now and return to reality." He started off easy and then sucked his bottom lip "I am trying to protect you guys and Ryan is a kind man but he's still the CEO of the biggest show production studio, he's the sweetest guy but he can only go so far to understand what you guys are going through without putting a million dollar show he invested at risk."
"Phil..." I stammered.
"He is your friend, but the both of you signed a contract. He was nice enough to give compensation for the shit his team did, he took responsibility...you guys should too. Commit to the show, if you guys keep putting it off it's just gonna make it worse. You can't sneak your way out of it, you just need to finish it."
"Whoa, who said we're sneaking our way out?"
"Nobody, but that's what RSP is going to assume if you keep prolonging this hiatus. You guys could face a lawsuit."
I fell back in my seat and my heart sank when Phil reminded me of that. I felt the color flush from my face. I knew this, but the feeling of being binded came over me expectedly, I honestly didn't think this feeling would return.
"They've found a new team for you, and they're expecting you guys to start shooting this week. It was going to be tomorrow but I talked to them about it. Starting now we need to do some damage control as much as we could."
