“Are we going south?” I looked around curiously at the passing sceneries in the freeway. He smiled and tapped my nose. “Yes, We’re going home.” “Hat Yai?” I gasped. He nodded happily. He’s taking me home. I’m not sure that I’m ready to face his family yet, as P’Godt’s boyfriend. “Hey” He touched my bottom lip, which I was biting hard. “Relax, Mom knows and my sisters know. It’s only father we have to win.” He held my neck while driving with one hand. I tried not to worry.
P’Godt’s home town is lot different than Bangkok. I’ve never been to Hat Yai before. Although I felt apprehensive about meeting his family, I couldn’t help myself feeling bit excited about being introduced to his family as the boyfriend. P’Godt looked at me and gave one of his crooked smiles. I sat back to enjoy the ride. P’Godt’s family home is a large old fashioned and manner typed. My heart is beating fast when he drove around the house and parked at the back. Then he looked at me with a reassuring smile and took my hand, squeezing it gently.
“Shall we?” I nodded. P’Godt’s mom is tall and elegant. She’s standing at the back door smiling at me kindly. “Mom, Bas. And Bas, this tall lady is my mom.” P’Godt introduced us. She stepped forward and hugged me. Then held my shoulders and gazed at my face. Since she’s as tall as me, she can look at me directly. “You look even prettier in person.” She held both my cheeks with her palms and I couldn’t help blushing red. “Mom, stop intimidating him.” P’Godt scolded. “He’s already nervous about being here.” “Nonsense, you’re very welcome here love.” She pinched my cheeks. “Thank you, Auntie.” I mumbled. “Please call me mom. You’re going to be my son in law soon” She hugged me again. “Mom” P’Godt growled. “Stop it” I was as red as a tomato now. I heard some giggling sounds in the doorway. There are two girls peeking at me from there. P’Godt sighed.
“You can come out now. We’ve seen you two already.” P’Godt gave a long suffering look. Two tall girls came and stood before me. They were so excited to see me, they were bouncing on their toes. “Bas these are my two annoying sisters, Nim and Pim.” I bowed to them respectfully. But they jumped and grabbed my hands. “Nooong, we are huge fans.” One said. “How many times we asked Godt to bring you here.” The other one pinched P’Godt’s hand. “It was nice meeting you P” I bowed again. They bowed back. “Come with us” they tugged my arm and I started walking with them looking behind my back at P’Godt. “Hey, you two. Be gentle with him. He’s very innocent, unlike you two.” P’Godt called out. They stuck out their tongues at him. They must be twins. They look almost identical.
