So I'm a girl
But what exactly does that mean?
I have a vagina,
But there are girls who don't, and boys who do
I wear a lot of clothes that are made for girls,
But if I wore an outfit from the men's section of a clothing store, that wouldn't make me a boy
Do I have "girly" interests? Do I act like a girl? What does acting like a girl necessarily mean?
Am I a weak, dainty little thing who hates getting dirty? Am I over emotional and obsessed with clothes? Do I dislike playing sports and like the colour pink?
Those are some pretty sexist stereotypes, if you ask me.
I like what I wear and how my hair and body look
But if none of these things make me a girl,
Then what does?Gender is just a social construct, really
What reason is there for it to exist besides belittling women?
Yes, people of opposite biological sexes have different bodies and faces,
But should that really determine what they wear, what they do, how they act, how society sees them, and what rights they have?I'm a girl
But... what does that mean?
