Elsa's P.O.V.
What happened next was a blur. People surrounded me and I felt myself being suffocated by the crowd raging at me. I could here Hans's muffled voice calling for me but I couldn't move. I tried my best not to panic so that my powers wouldn't take over. But nothing can last forever.
I heard a scream not too far from me and I looked in that direction. Ice had trapped her. Two people grabbed my arms and stopped me from moving. I felt myself being pulled away from the angry mob. Hans's voice kept calling for me, getting more and more angry and desperate by the second. Suddenly, I heard Anna's voice. I could tell she was still being held back. What have I done? I lost my sister, my only friend, my life. I could be held here in the Southern Isles as long as they'd like. Forever even.
"Here we are," one of the two men said, "queen." They shoved me and I fell on the cold, hard ground. Behind me, they slammed the cell door close. Behind me, I heard snickering and whispering. What have I done? I put myself into prison . . . again. Anna is probably suffering with Hans. Who knows where Snow is. I have ruined everyone's life. I curled myself up into a ball in the corner of the cell and wept.
❄❄❄
"Release her." My face, soaked with tears, shot up at the voice. It sounded like Hans's. But it couldn't be. I destroyed everything he had. I'm a monster. I deserve this.
"What makes you think we'll do that?" one of the men asked, chuckling. "Monsters such as this need to be contained."
"I said, release the queen of Arendelle," he said, his voice a little more firmer this time.
"I'm afraid we won't be able to fulfill your request."
"Then I'll just go in." What was he thinking? I had frozen the entire jail cell already.
"Be my guest. Try not to freeze in there," a man said with a snicker. I accepted the fact that I was a monster. I deserve this. The door creaked open in came Hans. I just stayed in my position.
"Elsa, are you alright?" he asked.
"Why are you doing this? I'm a monster. I deserve the consequences," I said.
"She's right!" I heard a voice from outside say. Then more snickers and whispers.
"Don't listen to them. I know everything you did was unintentional. My brother set you up."
"I killed him." Realization dawned on me at the moment. I killed a human being and hurt a couple more on the way here. I started panicking. I was a murderer. "I killed him," I repeated with a shaky voice.
"Listen, listen. Don't worry. It's fine. Everything is okay." I calmed down a little. I realized that he was shaking from the cold.
"Hans, I'm sorry."
"For what?" he asked, smiling, rubbing his hands on his arms to warm up.
"You're cold."
"No. It's fine."
"I'm hurting everyone. I'm a witch," I said and buried my head in my hands. I felt Hans getting up and leaving but I didn't move. He had to go.
"Release her. That is an order." What?! I looked up at him, arguing with one of the men.
"By whom? Your royal lowness?" he asked mockingly then snickered rudely along with the other man.
"As a matter of fact, no. By order of Prince Harris. So if you do not let her go, I will be forced to go get him. He might be able to knock some sense into you two." The two men suddenly stopped their cruel games and looked frightened. Prince Harris must have been the most intimidating of the 12, now that King Henry was gone. One of the men opened the cell door.
"You're free to go," he said signalling the way out. I stood up and walked out. I didn't want them changing their mind. "Next time, watch where you step," he warned me roughly. I stood next to Hans, hands intertwined.
"Next time, think before you speak," Hans sneered back. That made him keep quiet. With that, we walked out into the fresh air. Once outside, I pulled him into a tight hug, face soaked with tears.
"I can't believe you did that. I don't deserve it," I whispered in his ear.
"What you did was right. You didn't know what you were doing. It is understandable."
"I took away everything you had. I was going to kill you. I can't believe I let myself fall into his trap."
"You're safe here . . . with me."
