It was a few days later and I was lying on my couch when there was a knock at the door. Obviously I answered the door. It was Ashton.

"Hi there Caity"

"Oh Ashton. What are you doing here?"

"Just came to see you"

"Oh okay, hi then"

"Well can I come in?"

Me an Ashton sat in the living room and talked all night. About hobbies, interests. Literally anything and everything. Then before we knew

it, the time was 1:00am. Time always went by quickly when I was with him.

The day after, I was washing up when the door bell rung. This time it wasn't Ashton. Instead it was the boy who worked in the flower shop a few blocks down the road.

"Hey Marvin"

"This is for you"

He handed me a big bouquet of roses.

"Ahh thank you"

And with that he walked away and I shut the door. I opened up the note attached:

'Hey Caity, I was just wondering if you wanted to go out for dinner on Friday night? I'll be round later.

Oh it's Ashton by the way'

It was 5:30pm when Ashton finally turned up and even then he didn't stay long.

"I'm just here to get your answer. You know, to the flowers?"

"Oh yeah, thank you by the way. I'll check my calendar"

"I will come here on Friday at 7:00 and that's final"

I said whatever and shrugged it off, taking Ashton to the door. I wanted to play hard to get. Acting desperate was too easy.
