I told you so | Auston Matthews

Chapter 16

Over the summer Austin, Mitch and I stayed in a cabin up in Denver. We rented a boat a couple times to sail. It was so beautiful at night when the sun went down.

Now it's the new season in Toronto. Auston and I have been together 1 year. I can't believe how time flew right past us.

It was just like yesterday that I first kissed Auston, while Will was very drunk in the back seat.

I want to surprise Auston with a fancy dinner. Bottle of red wine, and his favorite food, steak and a potato.

I make the food and set it onto the table that has a black table cloth. Lighting a candle that sits in the middle.

"Hey baby!" I say as I hear the front door open and close.

"It smells amazing in here." Auston comments as he plants a kiss on my lips. He pulls out a bouquet of red roses from behind his back and smiles

Instantly a big smile grows on my face. "I love them I'll put them in a vase!" I say pulling him into a hug.

He laughs and heads to the table.

"You made all of this?" He asks.

"Yes, Baby I made all of this for us." I reply walking back into the dining room.

"It looks amazing, and tasty." He adds grabbing my hand.

After dinner we decided to just stay inside for the night. We both love comedy movies so of course we watch We're the Millers.

We cuddle up on the couch with Delta. I swear she does watch TV. She watches the screen and doesn't look away. I pet her as she is currently siting on Auston's lap.

"I know you know but I love you" I say looking up at Auston. It was out of the blue but I just love him.

"I love you too baby." He replies kissing the top of my head.

Auston's POV

Auston 😍- Hey babe

Hannah 🤠- Hey, how was practice?

Auston 😍- good do you want me to stop by before I leave for home.

Hannah 🤠- is that even a question? Ofc I do!

Auston 😍- ok be there soon. 💜

I walk into the office part of the ACC. I see Ethan, Mitch's cousin staring at me as I walk into the promotion and business section.

Hannah said she told Ethan she loves me and doesn't want him. I'm glad she chose me but I think he still likes her.

I knock on her door as I hear her yell come in.

"Hey baby," I say as she looks to meet my eyes. Her soft brown eyes light up like a neon sign at night.

"Hey!" She says getting up to greet me.

"I'm glad you stopped by I got you something." She continues.

She walks over to her desk and pulls out a candy bar.

"I got you one, Stacy a few offices over is selling them for her son." Hannah speaks handing me the candy.

"Thank you!" I give her a kiss. I soon leave after so I don't take up too much of her work time.

"I'll see you at home." I says with a smile.

"Ok, see you soon!" She replies.

Walking out closing the door behind me. As I get ready I hear a comment come from Ethan.

"She doesn't love you." He says making me turn around.

"Excuse me?" I ask with disbelief and anger.

""I said she doesn't love you. Can you not hear?" He says with an attitude.

"You are so dumb, can you not get the obvious hint that she's not into you?" I reply walking to him.

"Why did she kiss me back that night?" He added.

I am confused but I make sure to not let it show.

"In your dreams" I say back as I walk out the door.
