So Close, So Excited

Ash's POV

It's about dinner time and me and The Squad have been on the same Skype call since 10 this morning. This past week, our Skype calls have been more frequent due to it only being tomorrow - yes tomorrow - that they all fly over. Right now I'd say we are all currently hyped and excited. Ryan has drank some tea and is, um, hyper meaning we are all keeping an eye on him today.

"I feel like I can do anything. Like I might just go on the roof later" Ryan is currently spinning around on his chair.

"Ryan! You can't do that! It's unsafe! I don't want you hurt for tomorrow.". I tell him, concern showing in my voice.

He sighs, "fine".

I look over at Toby who is quite enjoying the entertainment, "Ryan is funny when he is hyper". I hum in agreement and nod.

I hear Cam come back after grabbing a snack, "yo I'm back. Did I hear Ryan wanting to go on the roof?".

Ryan sits up, "Yes. I want to go on the roof but Ash insists I don't".

"That's probably for the better. Why do you want to go on the roof anyway?".

"Parkour?". We all laugh. "Like I don't trust myself around my sisters right now. Tom will just leave me be, and rob is a whole other 'thing'" and at that moment Cookie walks in,

"what's going on Ryan?".

I sit up so I can inform Cookie, "Hey Cookie!".

She waves, "Hey!".

"Your brother has drank tea and is hyper and wants to go on the roof. I told him he couldn't and he has just said that he doesn't trust himself around his sisters".

We all look over at Ryan who is spinning around in his chair with his feet up and his hands in dinosaur claws and he's going "Rawr".

Cookie laughs at this, "oh my god. He hasn't had tea in a while so it's really made him go all out jeez. I'll just leave him be. See you all tomorrow or something bye!" She leaves the room and Ryan pulls himself together a bit,

"I really hope Lydia doesn't come in because if she is tired or needs something then I'm screwed" and as if his day couldn't go more wrong, Lydia walks in,

"Ryan! Mommy told me to get you to put me to bed. She says she's busy". Ryan sighs and face palms.

I smile, "Lydia, Sweetie, Ryan isn't capable of doing that right now but he will be able to do so later. Think you can stay up another half hour?". She nods. "Good girl. Go play in your bedroom for now". She nods again and leaves the room. "Your day couldn't have gone more wrong in the space of 5 minutes".

He hums, "thanks for that Ash. Life saver".

"No problem. What would have you done though".

"Scare her.".

"Poor Lydia. You need to calm down.".

"I can't help it. One sec." He goes and flops on his bed and just lies there for a few moments. He soon sits back in his chair and takes a deep breath, "Ok. I'm ok. I'm chill. What up?".

Cam sits up and starts singing - he's hyper to but not from tea. "welcome to my discord server! I'm high on cocaine! I'm-" he stops singing, "wait Toby are you streaming?".

"Yeah".

"Shhhhhhhhhhit" he leaves the Skype call. All of us are confused and Ryan just shrugs. Cam joins the call again, "Wassup it's me! Totally sober dude here"

we all burst into fits of laughter and Toby adds to what Cam said, "totally not cocaine man".

Cam Laughs, "Just fucking like, me being my little sober self over here".
