It's Nearly Over

Ryan's POV

I hated seeing Ash suffer. The pain she looks and sounds in when a contraction hits her just breaks my heart. It's what is expected but it's too harsh for a precious girl like her. I just hope this baby comes soon because seeing Ash suffer is the worst part of the experience.

"Ryan?" A voice pulls me out of my thoughts. I hum, confused as I turn around. What I see brings joy to my heart and a smile to my face.

Tom.

Tom is back from Uni.

"Tom!" I exclaim as I stand up from the floor to give him a big brotherly hug.

"Hey how are you? I've missed you!"

"I'm great thanks! How are you?"

"All well here."

"I've missed you too bro. How's Uni been?"

"Good, it's been good. Lonely when you haven't seen your true family in months."

"Have you had to see the adults then..?"

He hums. "Yeah, unfortunately. I didn't speak to them, I just stayed in my room and made online friends - occasionally going down for food"

"New friends ay? Didn't think you'd have them" I laugh.

Tom chuckles too. "Oh shush you. And yes, actually came across Matt - you know, you're old Director and your friend"

"Ah So that's why Matt has been happy recently"

"What?"

"Matt's been really happy lately and he only told us because he spoke to someone online"

"He isn't hiding it Well is he" he mutters.

"¿Disculpa Que?(I'm sorry what?)"

He sighs. "Might as well tell you - but don't tell anyone else!"

"Okay okay" I put my hands up as if to surrender.

"We started talking. Talking as in speaking. The relationship term speaking. Things happened and I asked him out. He said yes. And yeah"

"Tom! That has made my day today. Ah that's cute! You know, that's probably why he's extremely happy today - because he gets to see you years after your first encounter"

"True true"

"Wait hold up. You're gay? You never spoke of this mister."

"I didn't want to tell anyone.."

"You're afraid aren't you?". He says nothing. "Tom I've been there. Luckily I had Nurse Nelly to help me through it though. You should have said something to me, I could have helped you - and still can!"

"I know I know.. it's just- I don't know..."

"Come here bro" I reach my arms out and pull him into my best comforting hug.  "Let's go to the others"

"Alright. But first: why were you up here alone and on the floor?"

"Stressed really. I'm over it now though after having a little time to think to myself."

He smiles. "good"

"Come on". I give him a smile and walk downstairs with him into a relaxed living room atmosphere. "Good evening boys. Everyone, uh, calmed down now? Heh"

"What?"

"Don't worry about it Tom"

"Ryan."

I sigh. "Tyson only had a freak out and nearly hit Ash after getting angry at Burt whilst we were doing a skit. I think we all good now"

He turns to the couch and looks at Ash. "ash are you ok?"

"Yeh I'm fine, don't worry. Ryan pulled me out of the way" She smiles.

Tom nudges me. "awe Ryan"

I roll my eyes playfully. "oh shush"

"Burt you better stay the hell away from me!" Tyson shouts as he enters the room - hands in fist shape and face red from anger.  Unfortunately, Burt is sat next to Ash so I keep an eye on him incase I need to get Ash away.

"I didn't do heck all" Burt defends.

"Burt you agravated me and pushed me. You know what you did, don't deny it!"

"I ain't denying crap!"

"Ugh" he begins to storm over to the couch and I immediately intervene, standing inbetween Tyson and the couch.

"Tyson no!"

"Move Ryan. This idiot needs to learn."

"I won't move Tyson. This is wrong and you know it"

"Is it heck."

"Yeh Tyson, listen to Ryan." Burt inputs.

"I ain't listening to nobody. Shut the hell up the both of you!"

"Tyson!" Ash exclaims.

"Not you as well"

"Hey! Don't talk to Ash like that okay?" I sternly tell him. My sudden outburst shocks him slightly.

"Don't get all defensive you know what I'm like"

"I do but don't use that as an excuse to talk to my wife like that! Now there's a door over there. I suggest you take a look at that door and head straight for it without a word". He stays silent and reluctantly turns around to not make much of an effort on his way out. Once he is halfway to the door, I move away from the couch and back over to Tom whilst the others make sure Burt and Ash are okay with what just happened. I think Tyson senses I moved be sure he unexpectedly turns around quick on his heels and runs as fast as he can to the couch to throw a punch at Burt's way.

"Ash watch out!" I hear Burt shout followed by a mini scream from Ash. I turn quick on my heels and run to Ash to move her out the way. As I pull her up and off the couch, I push Burt off the couch making Tyson miss his hit. Zach, Matt and Tom head straight for Tyson to hold him still and get their best at calming him down.

"Sorry for pushing you on the floor Burt. I didn't want you to get hurt either and was the only thing I could really do in time" I chuckle slightly.

Burt smiles and gets up, straightening his top. "it's fine. Thanks for that. Saved me from injury"

"No problem mate". He nods and sits furthest away from Tyson he can whilst still being with us. I turn to Ash and hug her, holding her close. "you ok? Must have been a fright to see a powerful fist coming towards you". She nods and hums. "alright." I rub her back whilst she takes ahold of me, not wanting to let go. Then I hear a cry. A child's cry. Then the pitter patter of footsteps.

"Daddy" Emily cries out. Ash let's go off me and I hold out my arms to which Emily runs into. I pick her up and hold her close, calming her down and telling her everything is ok. I wrap my free arm around Ash and bring her closer to me again.

"Burt and the Damon's - except Tom -, you guys go out to the park or the local cafe for a bit so Tyson can cool off." Zach tells us. We nod and head straight for the door.
