“Don’t forget my friends are coming up this weekend” I reminded Chris as I popped another peanut M&M in my mouth. He smiled “I can’t wait to meet them.”
Larissa, Janae, and Chloe were coming up this weekend and I couldn’t be more excited, I missed my girls so much. “What’s wrong babe?” Chris asked pulling me closer to his side “Nothing just thinking about how much I miss my friends.” He smiled “well you’ll see them soon enough.” “I know I can’t wait.” He picked up the remote from the coffee table and started flipping through the channels absentmindedly. “So Lance seems cool” he said “how do ya’ll know each other again?” My heart skipped a beat “Um he’s Larissa’s brother” I said putting another M&M in my mouth. “Oh ok” was all he said.
Chris and I sat on the couch watching a wedding show, that I picked of course. “Babe are you seriously gonna make me watch this all night?” I smiled and paced a quick kiss on his cheeks “Yes I am and you’re going to enjoy it.” He laughed “You’re so lucky I love you.” My heart tightened, my intention has never been to hurt Chris but if Lance stayed in the picture it was inevitable. “How much?” I asked after a while. “What?” he looked at me confused , I smiled “How much do you love me?” His gorgeous hazel eyes lit up and I knew the answer before he even spoke. “Baby you’re everything I never even knew I wanted, I am so in love with you. I can’t imagine being with anyone else, you’re pretty much my everything.” I sighed “Wow that’s a lot” “of course babe.” I looked into his eyes and they looked back at me with pure love. There was no lies, no hurt, no inconsistency in them. What the hell was I doing? Here I am with this wonderful guy who is completely in love with me and I’m letting Lance ruin it. Lance who has never been consistent or honest with me. Was I stupid? I placed both hands on Chris’s face “I love you too baby, so much.” He smiled and pulled me to him and his lips found mine.
After Chris left, I smiled I really fucked up but I wouldn’t let it happen again. I love Chris and I was determined to make this relationship work. I climbed into bed just as my phone chimed. I checked and saw a message from Lance “I miss you baby.” I quickly deleted the message and placed the phone back on the night stand. I fell asleep and for the first time in a long time I dreamt of Chris.
The next few days were absolutely amazing, Chris and I spent as much time as we could together and each time was better than the last. Friday finally came and the girls already called to tell me they were on their way. I was so excited to see my loves. We decided to meet up at Chris’s place when the girls arrived. There was a knock on the door and I rushed to open it. “AHHH” I screamed when I saw all three of my best friends standing on the other side. They all laughed and rushed to hug me “Damn heifer it took forever to get here” Larissa said letting go of me and walking into the apartment. I laughed “I missed you too Rissa.” I smiled at Chloe and Janae who now made their way in as well “God I missed you guys” I said. Janae smiled and gave me a kiss on the cheeks “You got food, I’m dying.” I shook my head and stepped out of the way to let them through.
“Hey” I turned to see Chris emerging from the bedroom and I smiled. I walked over and grabbed his hand directing him towards my friends. “Babe this is Larissa, Janae, and Chloe” I said “girls this is Chris.” Chris smiled “Nice to meet you guys, Kendra never shuts up about ya’ll.” “Damn you fine as hell” Larissa said eyeing Chris. I rolled my eyes and Chris laughed “Well thank you.” “Janae we ordered pizza” I said remembering her asking about food. “Thank God hallelujah” she said flopping on the couch. I laughed. The girls all sat on the couch making themselves comfortable. Chris sat on the love seat and motioned me to come join him, I walked over and he pulled me on his lap.
The food arrived and everyone ate as we all caught up on life. I missed these girls so much and I was so thrilled that I get a whole weekend with them. After talking and laughing for what seemed like days the girls and I decided it was time to go back to my place. “Bye Chris, it was nice to meet you” Chloe said walking towards the door. “Yeah you cool as hell” Larissa said giving him a hug, Janae followed with a hug and smiled. I loved the fact that everyone got along so well. “Aye so you going clubbing with us tomorrow right?” Larissa asked Chris. He smiled “If my baby going then of course I’ll see ya’ll tomorrow” “I guess child” Larissa said with a smile. I stuck my tongue out at her and walked into Chris’s open arms “Goodnight baby.” He gave me a quick kiss
