We walked into my apartment and I saw all three of my roommates sitting on the couch watching a movie. “Hey guys” I said walking into the living room, the girls followed. “Guys these are my best friends from back home, this is Janae, Chloe, and Larissa” I said motioning to each girl. “And these are my roommates, Nala, Kayle, and Dawn.” The girls all smiled and made small talk as I headed towards the kitchen. “Anyone want anything?” I asked opening the fridge and grabbing a can of coke. After a few nods saying no, I walked back in the living room and squeezed myself in between Nala and Dawn.
The living room was now filled with seven girls but it somehow didn’t feel crowded. I glanced around at my friends and my roommates talking and I smiled, this was going to be a good weekend. After talking and watching TV for a few hours, the girls decided it was time to head to their hotel room. Since my apartment wasn’t too big, a hotel room was the best option. I walked my friends outside to their cars. “Alright guys so you guys call me when you wake up and we’ll decide what we’re doing ok?” Larissa smiled “And around what time do you plan on waking up?” “Probably 8 or 9” I said shrugging. sHe rolled her eyes, “Hell no! I’ll call you after 12, girl you know I need my sleep.” I rolled my eyes back at her but I couldn’t help but smile. “Goodnight monkeys” I said stepping away from the car window. “Good night ape” Larissa said sticking her tongue out at me. I blew kisses at Chloe and Janae as the car drove off.
Minutes after I walked into the house my phone rang, “Hey baby!” I said smiling. “Hey love, you still with your girls” Chris’s voice came through the phone. “Naw babe they just left, I’m about to get in bed. What are you up to?” I asked climbing into my bed. I was so tired, I didn’t even bother undressing. “I’m about to go to sleep baby but I wanted to call you first” “Aw thanks babe, I miss you” I said. He laughed a short laugh, “I miss you too baby.” After a few more minutes talking to Chris, we said goodnight and I turned off the lights and pulled the covers over my head. I guess I was even more exhausted because next thing I remember is waking up to my phone ringing.
“Hello?” I said groggily on the phone. “K where you still sleeping?” I sat up and rubbed my eyes “Lance why are you calling me so late?” I asked irritated. He laughed “Baby it’s 11:30 in the morning” “Don’t say that!” I snapped. “You don’t want to know the time?” he sounded confused “no don’t call me baby” I said getting more and more aggravated. He was quiet for a minute, I thought he hung up until I heard him sigh “What now Kendra?” “Nothing is up except I’m with Chris and I want to be faithful. I’m going to be faithful Lance, I’m tired of this back and forth with you.” “K you were just with me. We talked about this!” he was the one getting aggravated now. “I know but I can’t do this to Chris, I love him.” “You love me” he said quietly. “And I’ll always love you but I can’t be with you.”
“Baby don’t do this” he sounded exhausted. “I’m sorry Lance but I have to go.” He sighed “Where are you going?” “Your sister is in town with Nae and Chloe I’m meeting them” I said. “Call me later Kendra, I love you.” “Bye Lance.”
