Soft as a Petal

Flesh soft and delicate as a petal

Emotions deep and strong as metal

Eyes of blue with the light of stars

Beauty that could conquer Mars

He walks with an air of superiority

Talks with a voice of authority

Thinks that he is invincible

He is inconvincible

Hands that hold a rose stem tight

Gripped hard with all his might

But beads of blood remind him

That he is only human

Soft flesh will tear

Deep emotions tax and wear

Blue eyes allow him to cry

And with time beauty will die

It is always important to keep in mind

Immortality is impossible to find

Yet it seems that only when blood falls

People receive a wake up call

Something as innocent as a rose

Can find a way to cause us woes

Don't believe humans rein the best

We are just as vulnerable as the rest

Even with beauty to conquer Mars

Eyes that hold the light of stars

Emotions that seem as strong as metal

Our skin is still as soft as a petal
