You couldn't do it anymore. You just didn't have the energy.
You couldn't wake up every morning and pretend everything was fine when Tom facetimed you every morning from a different part in the world asking how you were. You couldn't lie to him anymore that you were fine and that you weren't falling apart. You just didn't want to bother him with your own problems.
So when he facetimed you the next morning you gave up the act and he could see the difference in you. You didn't put on makeup to cover up the bags under your eyes from not being able to sleep at night. You didn't smile, trying to hide the sadness overtaking you from the inside out.
You didn't try to stop the tears that never seemed to stop as you looked at the screen.
Tom's face turned concerned as he saw you basically falling apart in front of him.
"Love, what's wrong?" His eyebrows furrowed in concern at you begin to sob in front of the screen.
Not answering, Tom speaks again
"Baby, you're scaring me."
Trying to get your crying in control you look down, hiccuping.
"It-it's m-mari" you stuttered out.
Mari was your best friend since birth, you guys were basically inseparable and hung out every chance you hand.
"What about Mari?" He asked carefully,
"D-drunk dr-driver" you said trying to get a hold of yourself
His heart sunk. He couldn't imagine what you were feeling.
"Oh, sweetheart. I'm coming home right now,okay?" He said getting up from the chair he was sitting in, over to the closet which was behind him, opening it and taking out his suitcase, in which he began to put clothes in.
You shake your head "Y-you need to f-finish your press c-con-ferences."
He stops putting clothes in his suitcase and looks directly at you.
"You are way more important than any press conferences. You need me right now so I'm going to be there for you.
You smile a tired smile as you look at him
"I love you, Thomas Stanley Holland"
"And I love you"
