A FEW WEEKS LATER!
recently brynn's dad had passed cause of his sickness. she heard the doctors yell clear! over and over as the charge of the defibrillator grew until there was just really no pulse.
that day she cried onto carson's shoulder. he was there to be with her. there to support her. her mom, although, didn't really like carson.
later on today was the funeral.

"how'd you know i was here?" brynn asked, as carson took a seat next to her on her bed.
"brynn, it's not like you'd be in somebody else's room. and, i could hear you crying. you can do this," carson replied, caressing her back gently.
"i c-can't do this. i can't g-go to the funeral. everyone is going to be w-watching me and there are going t-to be cameras there. and i can't-" brynn stuttered.
"yes you can. brynn you'll be fine," carson responded while she shook her as tears continued to stream down her face.
"everything is going to be okay," carson continued. "do it for your dad, kenz, john, lauren, hayden, annie, nadia— do it for me and your mom."
"well, that's a work in progress," he grinned.
"i can't go and be like this," she answered as he hugged her warmly.
"it doesn't matter. everyone cries in funerals. you know, you could be crying for you. you just lost someone." he added.
"yeah," she spoke softly.
"come on, brynn. you'll be okay. we'll be okay," he said.
"i'll be there." he continued.
"what? how are you going to get pass my mom?" she asked.
"i'll be there. not right next to you, but, i'll figure it out." he replied.
"okay," she replied softly again as he cupped her cheek, caressing it with his thumb.

the funeral turned out alright. carson was able to be secretly there, and she was so glad he could.
