"how's brynn?" john asked, lying down relaxed with crossed arms.

"we're okay. we're alright," carson stated, lying next to his friend.

"so? what's the deal? why are you guys only friends now? thought y'all were all over eachother," johnny grinned.

"i thought we were so complicated, so i just tried to make it more simple. become friends. that's all she wanted us to be anyway," carson replied.

"you're very oblivious, lueders." john continued. "to her, you're like a sexy rubiks cube— something she can't figure out but having fun doing it. kenz made me watch to all the boys i've loved before, and i think you guys are kind of having the same situation. brynn loves you, car,"

"she does not."

"yes she does."

"prove it."

"when we were fake dating, she told me everything— on how she really liked you and was just scared to do something. she's careful, she really cares."

"i don't believe you, john." carson responded.

"fine, do whatever you want. but once you're together, you'll know it'll be a waste of time if you didn't head to that hot tub." john said.

"what do you mean hot tub?" the blonde asked.

"didn't you know? since we're back at the cabins, the resort has a hot tub. and i know for a fact brynn is there, praying and wishing you were there with her," johnny spoke.

"i'll go then." carson said. "as friends."

"you'll regret that soon," johnny chuckled.

carson headed back to his cabin he was sharing with kenzie. kenzie had been sleeping off the stress of thinking about the baby. carson changed into swim trunks and grabbed a towel, then finally heading to the long awaited and anticipated hot tub, seeing the one and only— brynn rumfallo.

"may i join you?" carson questioned the other blondie as she nodded. "what's up?"

"just thinking about my dad," she replied, looking down at the hot water.

"i'm sorry— i shouldn't have asked," he apologized.

"no, it's okay. i should get used to it— i like talking about him now, it makes me remember what a great person he was. maybe it was the right time for him to go, i mean like i knew something was up with him. i just never knew what was eating him up." she said.

"you're so brave." he stated. "i like that,"

"do you really love me?" he asked.

"i think we should talk about something else," she responded.

"no, brynn. tell me. i want to know." he claimed.

"i love you as a friend. that's what you want anyway," she lied.

"i know when you lie. i could tell," he laughed.

"whatever you say, carsun." she replied back, giggling.

"if you don't tell me then, i guess i'll just have to think that you do love me." he teased.

"so maybe it might be true," she said, scooting over to him. "remember the keyword, though— maybe."

"the real question is, do you love me, carson?" she said again. "but we know that's never going to-"

"don't— don't doubt it, it's true." he said as she blushed. "you know brynn? being friends was a mistake,"

"what do you mean?" she questioned.

"date me, brynn. i don't care if i'm going to make a mistake. you'll be my best mistake that i'll never regret." he said clearly.

"what?" she asked again.

"date me. be my girlfriend. i love you more than a friend." he stated again.

she hesitated a little, looking down with a doubtful face— he cupped her cheek as she finally looked at him properly as he then locked lips with her. this was it.

they were real.
