Laura came running at me in excitement. "Madi! Madi!" She said. "What is it, Laura?" I asked. "It better be good." She was more happy than I have seen her during games. "We both made the 16u Penobscot Wolves!" We both screamed in excitement. "Let's get our equipment." I said.

We went to the Penobscot softball field and we picked up our team uniforms, team equipment bags, and bought new fresh gear at the Sports Apparel Store.

As I think about it, I have pros and cons for making the team. Here's the pros and cons on being on a softball team... Well, for me.

Pros: making new friends, tournaments, facing elite teams, being with at least one friend to start, and I have six years of experience.

Cons: I'm a werewolf.

I am the only werewolf on my team. I am scared they would find out. So that's why I chose to be a catcher when I started six years ago. On full moons, I would keep my catcher's gear on when I am not on deck so people wouldn't know anything about what I am.

So Laura and I were trying on cleats when two people came over to the bench. They were looking at us strangely. "Is it just me, or are these girls staring at us?" Asked Laura. "Nope." I said. "They're staring at us."

"I'm getting a new bat." I said, and ran to the bats. I found the new composite bat. I needed that bat. I was finally out of my hitting slump and I needed a bat to get me hitting home runs. I picked up the last of that kind. "Oh my god, Laura." I said. "This bat is the best one here and the only one." "Get it before anyone else does!" She said. So I did. I went to a clear space in the store and took a few swings. It was amazing and felt balanced.

Then, the same two girls came up to me and sassed me. "Hey." One girl said. "Are you getting that bat?" "Yes I am." I said. She got angry. "I need that bat." She said. "It's the last one in the world." I got annoyed. "Do you think I care?" I asked sarcastically. "Yes." She said. "Give it here." She went for it. I switched hands and she stumbled.
