She's The Beauty and He's The Beast (A Bruce Banner x OC fanfic)

Chapter 1

Chapter 1 

Elizabeth's POV

 I just found out that I got hired to as a scientist at Stark Industries. I'm absolutely over the moon and I'm out celebrating with my cousin Garrett. I'm not of drinking age for a few more months but the bartender made an exception for me. Something about me being a mature looking gal and what not. I don't like being made exceptions based off my looks, but I'm not going to go against that all the time. 

    Garrett and I are at a new bar that just opened down the street from my place. In case you're wondering, I have two roommates. Their names are Sally and Agatha. Sally is a twenty five year old grad student at NYC majoring in Nursing and Agatha is twenty two and in her final year of undergrad as a Secondary Education major. I love them both dearly and am lucky to have them in my life. 

     Sadly, I'm not very close with my parents and don't see them all that often. We chat on the phone once a week though. They live down in North Carolina, not too far from Lake Norman. Ah Lake Norman, I have so many memories there. I loved growing up down there but as time went on, I needed a change of scenery. Plus being the science nerd that I am, I knew in my heart that I wanted to one day work at Stark Industries. The fact that I start work tomorrow morning is a dream come true.

     Since I start work in the morning, it's probably not the best idea for me to be getting wasted at a bar with my cousin but you know what they say, YOLO. I'm going to be honest though, I have a massive crush on Dr. Bruce Banner. I'm beyond excited but also nervous to meet him. He's my favorite Avenger and my idol. He's so intelligent, not to mention handsome. 

The next morning...

   I wake up with a massive hangover at seven in the morning. I force myself into the shower because I stink and I need to make a good first impression today. After my shower, I have a bagel with butter for breakfast along with a nice cup of tea. Then, I brush my teeth and finish freshening up before running out the door with everything I need for the day. 

   Stark Industries is about fifteen minutes away so I have to take the subway to get there. I have a love hate relationship with riding the subway. The ride feels like an eternity before I finally get there. Once I'm outside of the building, I glance up at it in awe for a moment before signing in the lobby and making my way up to Tony's office. Him and I have a schedule meeting in a few minutes before I begin orientation. 

     My heart races as I get up to the twenty-second floor. When I get off the elevator, I'm face to face with Tony instantly. I jump a little bit, causing him to smirk at me. "Elizabeth Williams, what a pleasure it is to meet you. I knew you were smart, but you're also one sexy lady." I blush like a tomato. "Thank you Mr. Stark." He rolls his eyes playfully. "None of that Mr. Stark business here, call me Tony. Mr. Stark makes me sound so damn old." A giggle slips out. This is going well already. 

     Tony smiles at you. "Let me give you a proper tour before we start orientation." The two of you spend the couple of hours touring Stark Industries before you dive into orientation. As the day goes on, I have yet to see Bruce. At least orientation's going well. Who knows, maybe he'll show up later. A girl can only hope...

Hope you guys liked this chapter! So for the casting of Elizabeth, Katherine Langford from 13 Reasons Why and Love Simon was the first to come to mind. She's also 22 so she's pretty close in age to Elizabeth, therefore can portray her very well. My flight leaves this evening but I couldn't sleep so I figured why not get an update up before I leave for Florida. :) -Mary
