Tyler POV

As soon as I left the main entrance of the hospital I vamp speeded right avoiding the CCTV cameras and followed the sound of the howling wind coming out of the forbidden hallway. My vamp speed allowed me to remain out of sight to the naked human eye. Untraceable to the scrutiny of the CCTV cameras.

It wasn't long before I reached the older, forgotten side of the hospital. This particular area of the hospital looked neglected, out of use and unwanted. Thankfully there was no security cameras on this side of the hospital, so no one would be asking why an eighteen year old boy was suspiciously lurking on an abandoned side of a hospital.

Upon my arrival I was greeted by large thickets of thistles, nettles and ivory menacingly curling around me. Till I was neck deep in the overgrown wildlife.

Surrounding me, the plants seemed colossal and great in numbers. Blocking my line of sight and way in to find the entrance to the forbidden hallway. Try as I might tugging, kicking and clawing at these plants, they seemed to spring back stronger and taller than before.

Suddenly I noticed an enormously long vine hanging down from a gigantic willow tree behind me. A plan began to form in my mind. I turned to face the willow tree and using all my supernatural upper body strength I heaved myself upwards onto the dangling vine. Just high enough so I could finally free my legs and wrap them around it. I could feel my weight straining the plant, but I kept climbing higher and higher. When I thought I was high enough I gazed down at the birds eye view below. Which is when I noticed the entrance to the forbidden hallway. The brickwork either side of it was dusty and full of cobwebs, but still held is strength. Soon the very foundation would have to be reinforced, but for now the structure would hold.

I focused my full attention to the hallway. It's wooden doors were rotten and had been kicked in. By the looks of it, it had been kicked in quite recently. As the ivory that would have once grown over the door, had been forcefully ripped and lay in tatters in front of the hallway's entrance.

My attention was soon focused on the vine I was clinging onto- it wouldn't be able to withhold my weight for much longer. So I took my chances and swung the vine back then forward towards the hallway. As I flew through the air I felt weightless. It was almost like an out-of-body experience. My ascent was short lived. Seeing as I was about to hit solid ground, I braced my knees and landed effortlessly like a cat with it's back hunched, all paws on the ground waiting to attack. Pulling myself up I headed into the darkness of the hallway and concentrated on the fragments of faint voices I could barely hear over the rattling of the wind. "Leave Cassie alone, she hasn't done anything. She————, she's in a bad way. ————needs medical attention. ——take out your revenge of me not her or I'll———." I would recognise that voice anywhere. It was Cory's- he was alive; my  blood had healed him! Whilst I was overjoyed Cory was okay, my heart felt like it had been ripped out when Cory said Cassie was greatly injured and in need of medical attention.

The next voice I heard was a deep, foreign cackle. My ears picked up on the familiarity of that sound and I knew at once who the voice belonged to: Rachel. No, I wasn't filled with fear, but a tidal wave of burning rage. She was the vampire who had kidnapped my friends!

My heart told me to go in there guns blazing and finish what I started a year ago with Rachel. Yet my head steadily held me back. It was suicide going in there alone, against a vampire older and stronger than I am. I needed reinforcements, fast. As I don't know how long Rachel plans to keep my friends alive. My query was swiftly answered when Rachel spoke at such a loud volume her voice seemed to over power the sound of the beating wind, "Don't worry my dears. You will both be dead soon enough. Once your so called best friend Tyler gets here, I'll kill you both in front of him. Whilst he's tied up and helpless to stop me. Then he'll be full of grief and despair when he realises two of the people he loves most in this world are gone. So when I plunge a stake through his heart, I'll be doing him a favour!" "You are sick! Tyler will save us, just you wait-" Cory replied in defiance. Cassie must be too weak to talk, else she'd never keep quiet this long I thought to myself. I crept back into the shadows of the hallway and back into the blazing sunlight of the outdoors.

There I came across the outlines of a path Rachel must've carved out when dragging my friends into the forbidden hallway to keep them hostage. Clearly I could see drops of crimson red blood glinting in the sunlight; scattered along the trail. It must be Cassie's!

Wearily, I followed the path back to the entrance of the hospital. I vamp speeded out of sight of the security cameras. Then from the hospital's entrance I headed back to my car, my mind set on revenge and rescuing my two best friends!
