Cassie POV

Menacingly, Rachel appeared from lurking in the shadows of the hallway. At its foot she stood beaming a malicious smile that would make a child cry. Her strawberry blonde hair straightened in perfect lines. As she wore a velvet red dress that matched her fiery persona and highlighted her curves. At last Rachel broke the deafening silence,

"Good work my protégé. I didn't think you had it in you, but I suppose anything is possible with the right motivation." As soon as Rachel said this the boy guilty grimaced at the other girl, who without a word glared back at him. If looks could kill then the teenage boy would be a giant heap of human flesh on the floor. Whilst I gripped Ty's limp body against my chest.

My head was pounding with pain, so much so, it was as if it made a thrumming, pulsing sound. Despite losing a lot of blood, vengeance and fury whipped through my veins giving me adrenaline in the time I needed it most.

"Nathaniel, honey take the girls and my sweet Tyler would you." Rachel asked Nathaniel. Hopefully wherever Rachel was taking us would lead us to Cory. We had been separated when Rachel dragged me out of the abandoned hospital ward and threw me off the roof like the crazy psychopath she really was. I never thought I could be capable of hating someone, but Rachel takes the cake. She can do whatever she wants to me, but hurting Ty and kidnapping Cory is crossing a line.

"Don't you dare touch us!" The girl told Nathaniel. As he ushered us with his crossbow into the ward. What we found inside chilled me to my core. Cory was detained in an electric chair that must've been used on past patients when the ward was open. He was bound by worn leather straps showing signs of fraying at his arms and legs. With a rusted metal bar keeping his head tightly in place. Rope uncomfortably bound his mouth; his teeth clenched over the rough material. I saw fear blazing in his ocean blue eyes once filled with light.

"Place those 3 against the wall. A perfect viewing area to watch their friend die." Rachel coldly commanded with a sickening grin. Upon entry of the room Nathaniel tied our hands and feet together with rope. This particular room we're held hostage in is spacious. As well as the crumbled, dusty mass of brickwork in its centre, suggests it originally used to be two rooms. Nathaniel forcefully escorts us about 10 metres away from the electric chair. Leaving us tied up, defeated and helpless to free Cory. I felt like punching Rachel square in the nose. Yet resistance would do no good, since as a vampire she has super-fast and super strong reflexes. It's more likely she'd vamp towards me, twist my arm and break it, before my fist came into contact with her ridiculously perfect pale skin. Else Nathaniel would impale us with a wooden stake out of his crossbow.

I wince as I hear the first crackle of electricity and Cory's bloodcurdling cry. It was a cry of sheer agony no person should ever have to make. Let alone hear.

Although Ty's body was weak I felt his body tense during Cory's cries of pain. In between the crackles of electricity and the ear splitting screams the 3 of us huddled together with our eyes firmly shut. It feels as if we're living our worst nightmare and drowning in sorrow. Fearful of our uncertain fates.....
