The walk back to the Boar hat was silent. All that was visible on the faces of the group were expressions of disappointment, sadness and anger. Ava wiped away her tears only to have them replaced by new ones. Diane tried to calm her down but nothing was working, this was far too serious to be calm about. Ban was enraged, his teeth were gritted and fists clenched. He was saddened by the situation too but he was angrier if anything. He regretted not waking (Y/n) up that morning and taking her to the meeting with him so she would be in his arms again. If he had taken an extra second to tap her lightly on the shoulder and watch her awaken, she would be with him. If only he hadn't been mesmerised by her beauty and ignored how cute she looked with closed eyes and hair spread out across her pillow. He let out an angered sigh, quiet enough to go unnoticed.

The group returned to the tavern, no one spoke. It was Ban who was first to break the silence. He made his way over to a bar stool and sat down, hiding his face in his folded arms. Without warning, he slammed his fist into the wooden surface of the bar, making the others jump.

"Damn it!", he cursed, shaking in anger. None of the others moved, they would've liked to comfort him but how could they? Saying that everything was going to be alright was a lie and would probably anger him even more. He was a ticking time bomb and he would go off at the slightest movement. He let out a loud sigh and relaxed a little, turning to look at Meliodas.

"I need a drink". The blonde approaches his companion, sitting on the seat beside him.

"Now is not the time for alcohol and you know it, just calm down a little and we can work through this". The blue-haired man glanced at his friend, meeting his gaze. He didn't say anything, afraid that he would take his anger out on the blonde. He let out a quiet groan and hid his face in his arms.

"I deserve this", he mutters. Meliodas places a hand on his shoulder, giving it a firm squeeze.

"Don't say that, it's not true". Ban didn't even bother looking at him.

"I left (Y/n) for 11 years to have a baby that I didn't even know about, this is just karma for all my terrible life decisions". Meliodas's grip grew tighter to the point where Ban had to push his arm away because it hurt.

"He's obviously done something to her, the look in her eyes was different. She wasn't the same (Y/n) that I know, sure she looked the same but the person beneath was nowhere close. The (Y/n) I know is fearless and considerate, she isn't afraid of anything and would fight for what she believes in. The look in her eyes was no the same, there was no fire, they were dull as if she were dead". Ban opened his hand and examined the ring which he had given to you as a symbol of how much he loves and cares for you. Engraved on the side was something which he was proud of, something which he wished you to remember forever.

(Y/n), the thief who stole my heart, I love you

He dropped the ring on the bar and stood up, walking towards the stairs.

"I'm going to bed, don't expect me to be out until the morning". The others watched as the tall male walked past, stomping up the stairs before disappearing. Ava ran over to the bar and took Ban's seat, picking up the ring to inspect it. She slipped it into her pocket and headed towards the stairs.

"Wait", Diane calls, making her stop once she reached the base of the stairs.

"What was it that Ban dropped?", she asked, looking desperate for an answer. Ava reached into her pocket and pulled out the ring, holding it up so everyone could see it. She wiped her eyes, trying to hold back the fresh tears.

"It's an engagement ring", she chokes out, running up the stairs to escape the eyes of the others. Diane tries to go after her but the others stop her.

"It's best to let them go, its hard for them", King explains. The giant let out a quiet sigh, her normally bubbly personality was gone. She took a seat at one of the many tables and hid her face in her hands. Her best friend was gone, her goddaughter was in tears and there was nothing she could do about either. She bit her lips harshly, trying to hold back any emotion from slipping past. She was strong enough to hold it all back but one tear, letting it slide down her cheek and onto the table below. It was hard, not just for Ava and Ban, but for everyone.

Timeskip

Ban lay back on his bed, his eyes glued to the ceiling. He tried to sleep but he couldn't, it was too hard to forget that the love of his life was trapped and most likely being manipulated or brainwashed. He had to do what he could to protect her, his eternal life wouldn't be worth living without her. It was very late at night and everyone had gone to bed, he had heard them bid each other goodnight before retreating to their rooms for the night.

His gaze then drifted from the ceiling to the window of his room, the full moon visible in the night sky. He sat up and squinted up at it, an idea forming in his mind. He quickly got up and unlatched the window, opening it and looking down at his surrounding. There were no lights on and he could see the entrance of the thieves forest not too far away. Without hesitation, he leapt out of the window, sprinting towards the forest. If the others had thought he had given up hope they were wrong, all that he had was hope. Hope that there was still a piece of (Y/n) left and that he would be able to save her and hold her again.
