I moved to LA a couple of months ago from my childhood home in Havana. I was given this great opportunity to do something I love, but there will always be a part of me there

I hope I will return someday and meet him again but that is yet to be decided

My house was way too hectic, I just needed to relax so I decided to go dancing the night away, little did I know what would come from this

Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh na na

I walk in and I'm presented with many men who suit my tastes, a dancer with swaying hips that drive me crazy, sauve men who underestimate me, and so many more

The bartender invites me up on stage to sing which I gladly accept and I see a figure in the doorway

He takes me back to East Atlanta na naa

I begin to sing and gain eyes on me all across the room, they scale my figure. The short red dress that makes the boys go wild, heels that I've perfected walking in over the years. But I don't care about them just that man in the corner with dazzling brown eyes

I end my song quickly and walk over to him trying to be confident but he makes my legs feel like jelly

All of my heart is in Havana

I stop and hold out my hand

There's something bout his manner

"Peter"
I say he spins and twirls me around as we tango away

Havana ooh na na

We dance and talk the whole night, we agree on everything and still manage to change each other's point of view

He walks me outside, lifts me onto the hood of the car, and kisses me

I'm engulfed in a fiery passion but realize this is wrong. I can't let us both get attached when I'm leaving so soon so I pull away with guilty eyes

"Don't you love me?" He asks with a questioning expression

"Yes, but I love me more," I say "I'm sorry but I'm leaving soon and I can't get so engulfed in this when I can't even follow through" I give him a final peck and walk out of the alley

I haven't seen him since but the night felt like a dream

Someday I'll get the other half of my heart back from Havana
