"A Runner?" Adeline shrilled, storming into the Council Hut upon hearing the news that was circling the Glade, hours later. She'd been caring for the unconscious girl and their recently stung Leader and hadn't attended the Gathering, nor had she been notified that the Gathering was taking place. Adeline knew that the not being notified part was deliberate, and with what had just been declared, she knew that Newt knew she wouldn't agree with his decision. She also hadn't known at first that Thomas and Minho, alongside Zart, Winston and Frypan, went back into the Maze before that Gathering. That they'd found something that could be useful in getting out of here.

Meanwhile, Newt had spent however long since the ending of the Gathering, fearing how Adeline would react. He sat on their makeshift bleachers in the Council Hut, raking his fingers through his hair anxiously. The moment she barged into the room, he braced himself. When Adeline was mad, she was real mad and it was best not to anger her any further. Unfortunately, Newt had seen this occur, but was lucky he wasn't the one to cause it that one time. Fortunately for him, it was Minho on that end that time. Unfortunately, now he would be.

"You made the dumb shank a damn Runner?" Adeline shrilled once more, stopping in front of the British Blonde. Newt gave a sigh, gaining to his feet. Newt was taller than the girl, but not by much, yet he did still tower over her, being about 5'9, with Adeline 5'7. As Newt towered over the girl, she glared up at him.

"That's why I didn't bloody tell you 'bout the Gathering," Newt huffed. "I knew you would buggin' act like this."

"Damn right I would!" Adeline shot back. "Then why'd you make the dumb shuck a Runner if you knew I would act like this? And you didn't even tell me that you let Thomas back into the Maze when he wasn't a Runner at the time! Why would you do that, Newt?"

"'Cause the shank has done a lot more in to finding a way out than we have in bloody three years, Adeline!" Newt shot back, taking Adeline aback. "Bloody hell, I thought you'd understand that much."

"I do!" Adeline defended. "Dammit, Newt! Ya know I understand that!"

"Then you should understand why I made him a Runner!" Newt grumbled. "He's our best hope."

"But makin' the kid a Runner?" Adeline quizzed. "He's gone against our rules. The ones Alby wouldn't let any of us break."

"You sound like that stupid shank, Gally." Newt shot back once more, settling down on the makeshift bleacher. Adeline scoffed, rolling her eyes.
