"Tae oh my gosh my ring is missing!" Jimin exclaimed one early morning.
Taehyung's eyes widen considerably, milk pouring out of his mouth. Jungkook quickly stands to sit next to Namjoon while Hoseok takes it upon himself to clean the mess.
His head whips to face the distressed member. "What? Oh no that's terrible." He stands and wipes his mouth. "We've spent eons together with that thing."
"I know!" Jimin is close to tears and Jin eyes them suspiciously. What are they talking about? "Please help me find it."
In three strides Taehyung is grasping his friend's shoulders. "Of course Chim." He smiles a bit reassuringly. "We have a history with that ring. I won't let it slip from my grasp like sand. Let's go!" They were gone in a flash.
The remaining members seated around the table look at each other.
"Could they be possibly talking about a couple ring?" Jungkook asked, breaking the silence.
Leader shrugged. "Who knows?"
Yoongi hummed. "Wanna bet?" The others grin.
Pillows scatter the floor as Taehyung searches for the missing object.
Hoseok's head pops in and sees him alone. He casually walks toward the preoccupied member. "Hey Tae what're you looking for?"
"Uhh something important that Jimin and I share."
"Oh? And what's that?"
The younger's brows scrunch in concentration. "Erm I'm not sure if I can tell you hyung. Jimin told me to keep it a secret."
Hoseok leans on the doorway. "Hmm it's that special huh?"
"Uh-huh."
Suppressing a squeak, Hoseok leaves immediately.
"Hey Chim-nim what are you searching for?" asks Namjoon.
A few seconds pass since Jimin was too busy filing through papers to hear his leader. When he finally did notice him he jumped in surprise, clutching his heart with his eyes twice its size. Namjoon chuckled at the adorable view in front of him.
"Sorry for scaring you Chim." He went closer and Jimin's shocked expression reduced into a pleasant smile.
"I guess it's okay, so long as I don't get a heart attack." After calming down a bit he asks "So what's up hyung-nim?"
Leader scratched his head. "Uhh what are you looking for?"
Instantly the smile is replaced with a frown and Namjoon worries why it ever graced such an angel's face.
"My ring is missing hyung." After looking forlornly at the room as if to show a sign the ring was there he turned back to the elder. "It's important to me and TaeTae. We have lots of memories with that thing."
Namjoon was already thinking that it was a couple ring but he didn't want to jump to conclusions and surprise the kid. So he settled with "Well where did you last see it?"
"My bedside table when I took it off last night. Now I'm regretting; I shouldn't have removed it since it has a great value to Tae. Especially me."
Feeling sorry that he can't help much, Namjoon offers a comforting hand on his shoulder. It was at least enough to bring a sad smile to the younger's face. "You'll find it Jimin-ah. Fighting!"
Two days have passed and the 95z were still at it, searching and looking under crooks and crannies. They attempted a few times to go into Yoongi's music room but it seemed it was such a sacred place to the second eldest that they were not allowed inside.
Jin couldn't help but wonder. Why was the ring so important to both of them? If it really was a couple ring then one of them could just give his own to the other. Yeah but that'll leave the other ringless. And couple rings were to show to people that they were a thing. So it will be pointless if one has and the other doesn't.
But in the first place why would they have couple rings? Were they a thing? Jin suspected as much. Jimin looked very close to tears when he last saw him. It really must carry a huge value to the two. This must also be the first time Jin's seen Taehyung looking very worried apart from dance routine.
On the fourth day Taehyung exclaimed happily "I found it!"
Jimin practically jumped out of his chair, prancing happily toward his savior and enveloping him in a huge hug, even going as far as to carry him and bounce him around from sheer joy.
"AHHH TAEHYUNG-AH! My savior!" Even as he put him down, he placed a kiss on his forehead to show his gratefulness. Taehyung could only smile giddily at the tons of affection he received, and made a promise to himself to shower Jiminie with love too, just because he knows he deserves it.
He placed it on the palm of Min's hand, and he absolutely adored the look of surprise and joy mixed into his face. It made him ten times more cuter and innocent, even if at times he wasn't.
Jimin looked up at him with awe and a big smile split his face.
The others watched with multiple reactions. Jin and Hoseok were cooing, Namjoon was recording them, and the other two were scowling and gagging.
As if to add to Yoongi's list of 'Things I Shouldn't Have Seen' Taehyung picked up the ring from the other's hand and slipped it onto the older's ring finger.
"I knew it!" exclaimed Hobi, pointing a finger at them, breaking the sweet moment. The pair turn quizzically at their hyung. "Don't lie to us you guys. It's a couple ring isn't it?"
They could only look at each other and bark out laughs, making the other five confused and flabbergasted.
A gasp erupted from Jimin, who almost fell at his guffaws. "Oh my gosh hyung."
"Are you serious?" Tae continued.
The whole dorm was filled with their laughter, and Jin estimated five minutes before they calmed down.
Jimin wiped a tear from his eye. "All this time you thought it was a couple ring?"
"It's not?" Namjoon asked. He received a shake of the head from Tae.
"Then what is it?" demanded an impatient Jungkook.
"It's actually a gift from my gramma," explains Jimin calmly, a hint of a smile evident in his voice. "It was also special to Tae since he witnessed her giving it to me so he treated the ring like his own too."
Taehyung gave the others a sheepish smile. "Sorry for the wrong message guys. But really you should ask."
"So no one won the bet," states a nonchalant Yoongi. He turned to the duo. "We actually had a bet whether you were a thing or not. All of us thought you were looking for a couple ring."
"Next time make it clear to us that you're not dating!" scolds the eldest. The younger two could only giggle.
"Aish hyungs you sent the wrong message," Jungkook tells them, disappointment lacing his voice.
The two smiled at each other. Yoongi really should scrub his eyes. But admittedly they were too cute for their own good.
