As Luna and I were fighting the strange creatures, we noticed something strange.

"They are coordinating their attacks! When we are too focused in one direction, they strike immediately from the opposite!" Luna exclaimed.

She was right, they were out-manuvering us and we were struggling to keep up.

"Luna! Back-to-back with me! Now!" I barked, sharply.

She quickly got behind me as she blasted a creature to pieces. We had a bit more coverage this way, but it still wasnt enough. It was two against, what seemed to be, infinite and it showed no signs of stopping.

We fought for what seemed like forever and I could feel myself having a sense of exhaustion, but it wasnt like anything like I had ever felt before. Was this... magical exhaustion?

"I can't keep this up... I... I can't..." I was panting hard, struggling to remain standing. I could tell Luna wasnt any better off.

"We are... in agreement... There are far too many to face just us alone." Luna replied, completely breathless.

I attempted to cast more fireballs, but they ended up fizzling and flickering out in my hands. I was drained of my... Well, mana, for lack of a better term.

"L-luna... I can't go on... Any longer..." I promptly collapsed to a kneeling position and my breathing had slowed immensely.

"JACOB!" A pair of familiar voices panickly shouted.

I looked up to see Dr. Straufta and the Mane 6 headed toward Luna and I.

"Doctor, will he be ok?!" Rainbow Dash asked, worried.

"Give zhe doctah some space, schweinhunds!" The German-esque pony demanded. "Give Jacob some space as vell to breathe!"

"D-doctor... The things... Ngh!" I winced and realised that my chest felt heavier than lead.

Straufta's head shot upward from looking at me and he then came to the jarring conclusion that we were surrounded.

"Everypony! Form up around Jacob! Quickly!" Straufta barked. "Jacob, I know zhat you are exhausted right now. But I need you to push past zat and shield us all through zis. Please, push past your fears and doubts and protect your friends so they can continue to protect you!"

My eyes flared bright with a white fire, my arms shot outward and a shimmering dome formed around the large group.

"My friends are my power and they'll never fail me!" I shouted as the dome blasted outward with a blinding flash.
