Chapter 6: Slumber Party!

Nico

Having a sleepover with your crush is interesting. It's kind of like being a celebrities bedroom and being able to dive into their personal life. There was a picture of a man, younger Sally, and who Nico assumed was baby Percy, plus the picture looked old, almost torn. It was weird that was the only picture of the man though. The rest were of him and his friends or him and just his mom. Distant relative maybe? Old family friend? The sound of Percy's voice snapped Nico out of his thoughts, "You wanna watch another movie, on my laptop?" Nico shrugged in response, "Why animal planet?" Percy laughed, "I've always loved the ocean and its memories, in my old apartment when I was little I had a underwater themed bedroom, let's just say my ex-stepfather was not thrilled about it," he joked. Nico rolled his eyes as Percy flopped on the bed, maybe the man in the photo was his ex-stepfather, he thought. Oh, how wrong Nico could be, "Come on," Percy said rubbing the spot next to him and the computer. Nico then ungracefully lied down beside Percy, and the two stayed silent as the opening to Nemo started to play on the old HP monitor.
"I assume you'll want to borrow some pajamas?" Percy said as the credits rolled. Nico looked over to see red puffy eyes on Percy again, "Uh, yeah... Percy why are you crying?" He sniffed, "This movie just always gets me," Percy choked holding back a sob, "the dad just loved his son so much, and he was so happy to seem him." Percy sniffed again and sat up, he walked over to his closet pulling out a shirt and some old basketball sweats. "The bathrooms right there if you want to change," Nico nodded accepting the clothes, then proceeding to walk into the small bathroom.

Knock, knock, "Hey, Nico, it's Percy I need to brush my teeth is it alright if I come in?" Nico opened the door slowly, opened the door to see the small boy in slightly loose gym shorts that hung by his waist, and a shirt that looked as if he was being swallowed whole. To say the least Percy thought, he looked adorable. "Percy?" "Yeah? What?" "I was saying you can use the bathroom now," Percy shook his head, "Oh sorry, I was spacing out," Percy slid by Nico into the bathroom, "I have some spare toothbrushes if you want one?" Nico nodded, "My mom says apparently it's easier to buy in bulk, especially because the team likes to stay the night," Percy went below into the sink cabinet beneath him, as he went back up he noticed how tired Nico was. He looked like a puppy, cute. "Percy?" it was at this time he noticed he was just standing there arm out trying to give Nico something the boy had already took. He shook his head of those weird thoughts and dropped his hand. "Sorry," he whispered. He walked over to the sink and pulled his toothbrush out the glass. Secretly sneaking glances at Nico in the glass. What he didn't know was Nico was doing the same.
It was time for bed, and Percy was sad. He didn't want this day to end. He didn't want Nico to go home tomorrow. He definitely did not want to confront Annabeth on Monday. He just laid silently the hoodie being uncomfortable, rubbing against his skin. Like most boys, Percy didn't wear a lot of clothes to bed. It was normal for him to be half naked. I mean he was a swimmer and all. Nico just laid there eyes closed, and mouth open, lip slightly twitching. Percy carefully peeled off his sweater then lied back down, his eyes fluttering shut.
